GameFront - 9/10

Pros:

  • It’s more Borderlands!
  • More guns, with new variations
  • All four new Vault Hunters are fun — even Claptrap
  • New oxygen mechanic adds exploration and navigation options
  • Low-gravity on the moon is perfectly executed
  • Added personality for Vault Hunters makes characters more enjoyable
  • Jack’s backstory makes the Borderlands 2 character much more interesting as well
  • Caters to fans of the series; if you like Borderlands 2, you’ll probably like this

Cons:

  • Caters to fans of the series; if you don’t like Borderlands 2, you’ll probably dislike this
  • Random loot generation can result in some fairly long lulls in new gear, if you’re unlucky
  • Cryo movement bug can be very annoying if encountered

IGN - 8/10
The Escapist - 8/10

PCGamer - 7.7/10
Polygon - 7/10
Joystiq - 7/10

Bottom Line: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is a funny cartoon shooter that compels you to keep playing and score more guns. Just like the last two. Laser weapons and moon bouncing add a little extra flavor, but if you don't likeBorderlands by now, this won't change things.

Recommendation: If more of the same sounds just dandy to you, this is as good as it ever was.

IGN: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel successfully builds on the series' many strengths while repeating its pacing mistakes.

PC Gamer: A well-executed but thoroughly unambitious extension of Borderlands 2. Low-grav jumping adds a new dimension to combat.

Joystiq: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has the makings of a pretty great Borderlands game. There are plenty of enemies begging to have their faces shot. The environments on Elpis are stunning neon spectacles, there are plenty of new guns that are bundles of violent joy to use (including lasers!), and the new characters are well-rounded. The Pre-Sequel is missing just a bit of soul, but it has plenty of heart – hearts exploded by laser rifles.

Co-op review: 5/5. Borderlands never fails.

Enjoying it so far. Everything is just like Borderlands 2. From UI to golden keys to gameplay mechanics.

The gravity is nicely done. You have to reach O2 spots to regenerate HP. :D

Couple of 4K shots.

My pre-load is complete. Need to freaking wait till 17th October to be able to play it in India. My pirate friends have already finished quite the bit of game. ;(

JOE ARE YOU PLAYING USING VPN? It's only released in N.A on 13th..

It's good. Some might not like the gravity movements (slow), but other than that, it's Borderlands 2.5. Great humor, good missions (with some fetch filler quests), variety of enemies and bazillion amount of loot.

If you enjoyed Borderlands, you'll definitely like this.

Also, it runs great unlike Dead Rising 3 (which kills co-op fun).

Hi everyone i wanted to ask a question, which i asked before for shadow of mordor in its therad.

My brother who is in US for studies wants to buy this game or The new Civilization one. It is very costly there and is only Rs. 1000 here in India. He wants me to buy this game in India from Amazon and send him the game code so that he can download the game there and play. He is very pissed as he is not able to play shadow of mordor because of the region lock, so he told me to ask whether this game or the new civilization one is region locked or not (which of these 2 games are not region locked). My question to all of you who had bought the DVD version of this game in India is:

1. Does the game box comes with a game code inside? If yes, then can i use the game code to activate the game without the use of the provided game DVD's?

2. Can that code be used to activate the game outside India?

Please if somebody can answer my question then i will be very happy, as i am very frustrated by his request. He only wants to play one of the game Borderlands or the civilization.

Thanking You in advance..

2K games are always region locked. They have separate IDs for CIS/ASIA/IN/RU/ROW and occasionally other countries.

1. Retail boxes come with steam code. Both are steamworks title and both of them are region locked.

2. You can't.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (IN) Retail. SubID: 49106.
Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth (IN) Retail. SubID: 49452
Both of them have the following code:
PurchaseRestrictedCountries IN
onlyallowrunincountries IN
You cannot redeem or play the game outside IN region.
(at least not without VPN and for online games, VPN is bad idea)
Your brother is better off getting the game via trading (by paying few extra dollars).
