^^ true, the game reaches the pinnacle of difficulty in forbidden woods (and the shadow of yarnham boss is the worst at that point) .... after that the game gets a bit easier until the nightmare areas .... they suck as much as the forbidden woods, esp those walking brains that just frenzy the sh1t out of you .... had a very tough time dealing with them !

Don't worry. This game was built on you dying. By the time you finish this boss and the next optional boss (esp. the optional one, that was horrendous), you will feel very much at ease in the game. Also, grinding actually does help a lot. Enemies damage in next area will scale to your health, but for example,if you have a lot of stamina, you will also be able to far better control your character (keep on dodging, attacking continuously etc.). Also, there are no mobs that one shot you (they just come close) outside of very specific situations. The game is very fair. Later on you will find the game actually very easy outside of some bosses. The best part is which boss you find hard or easy is up to you. Some bosses which this board found hard, I killed on my first try and vice versa. The experience is always only yours. This is one of the truly beautiful parts of the game, I feel.

Thanks for the reassurance ! Not gonna quit without a fair attempt, that's for sure. Despite everything, the feeling of accomplishment is immense in this game. And I'm barely at the beginning I guess

And this is an example of personal experience I was talking about . I found the above mentioned boss to be pathetically easy on my NG, and I killed it on my first try. However, some other bosses, outside of the mandatory easy ones (which you just can't fail at) I did find hard (don't want to tell boss names for spoilers, it's more fun to discover on your own).

 

Also, what Phantomshade wrote is very true. This is the only game where you will feel the need to save a video after defeating each boss for the first time. Trophies in this actually feel like your personal accomplishment and not a random checklist.

 

But if possible don't look at NG+ videos. The game actually emphasizes that you learn to play the mob. Stat increases don't mean much. You will find in this game that no matter how the stats of enemies and bosses increase, so long as you know how to actually play it you will still win. This is why NG+ is actually easier than the original NG, despite the stat increase enemies get there. The same bosses you are having trouble now, you will actually blaze through in NG+.

I just died the 46th time against the 4th boss(VA B*tch).lol. Someone has to help me or else I may get fits and break my PS4. I aint an Idiot I killed the first boss(CB) in my 6th attempt and the 2nd(FG) and third boss(BSB) in my 3rd attempt so yeah.(My first souls game) I have a bad feeling that my game is glitched or something!! I can not even bring her life down to half. lol . I am just in a frenzy. What better place than IVG to let it out. I will sell my PS4 and break the bloodborne DVD if this keeps happening..... . I am a Level 40 hunter using + 3 Axe.

1.get it to +4 or +5,Ideally saw cleaver would be best because of serration does + 20% damage against beasts,Fire does +10% dmg,so use fire paper while laying down the pain for VA especially after oil urns

2.Get numbing mist

OR

3.Get Molotovs + Oil Urns(use these when the bitch sits and prays and heals fast.)

4.Try to whack the legs,If enough dmg is done to the leg is done,she will fall,and you get free hits and the hand holding the pendant

5. Do not get greedy with hits

6. avoid lock on when getting close to whack the bitch,else the camera goes bonkers

 

 

you can unlock oil urns in shop by killing the beast loving hunter on the tower with minigun in old yharnam

Its rather easy study her pattern and dodge the attacks.. and attack her on back legs.. and when she starts healing keep attacking her... easy boss hai.. [emoji14]

Sadly No PS Plus...... Doomed!!!! Moreover I already killed the machine gun hunter and his accomplice and also have oil urns in shop for insight. I seriously feel something is off. Wherever I jump or turn or roll she also jumps and faces me and does left hand pound and triple scratch!!!!!! I saw some videos in youtube and she was showing her A## to them for much longer than to me>>>>> Frustrated after attempt 52.

 

 

I Also used saw spear +3, I guess Saw spear also has serration damage. Stuning her seems to be more a matter of luck, Don't know what to do...... Update 1.05 increased difficulty or what?.lol.

This is the special thing about this game.. everyone have had different experiences with the bosses... i had a hard time with bsb and thought i bought a wrong game took help of fellow ivgian ank to beat her and after that never looked back went on to platinum it.. [emoji14]

Wow. Congratulations on your Platinum!! I definitely agree with you there mate. BSB was third time with Fire Paper for me. Not used to failing sooooo bad!!! This game might even teach me patience and humility.

Exactly. Bloodborne finally made me appreciate the wonder, that is the share button. I mean seriously. Awesome to look back and relieve those final moments when you finally conquer the beasts!!!! Cant wait to add VA slaying video to the list !!!

It's a very great feeling, saving that video and watching it later isn't it?

 

Anyway regarding Vicar Amelia, here are some tips -

 

1) Always stay behind her and on her or on her right side if you are in front of her (try to be behind her always). She doesn't attack much there. Also, if she gets away from you, try to get back to that position of being behind her ASAP.

2) Never, ever try to go far away from her. She has attacks that strike at a distance and is very difficult to dodge, so it's best to keep to her back. You can heal there.

3) If possible, use the Saw Cleaver. It's a very fast weapon and has +20% damage against beasts (which she is). If this is not possible, using axe is fine. But always, fire paper is mandatory.

4) When she tries to heal is actually a very good opportunity for you. When she tries to heal (i.e. goes into praying position) she is actually a sitting duck who is doing nothing. Keep on attacking her with fast attacks infused with fire paper and you will damage her much more than she can heal.

5) If possible, use the 1H axe if you cannot use the cleaver (with fire paper ofc). This should make things bit more manageable.

6) Saying this again but always remember to stay behind her and in close melee range. You need to keep moving when Vicar Amelia turns toward you or jumps away from you.

Beat Father G in the most awful way possible. Mistimed hits, erratic dodges.. just plain ugly. Pretty much every hit I took was due to some absolutely stupid move on my part. Don't even understand how it went through. Would've re-done it again if I had the option.

Haha,I cheesed out FG using music box.... no issues, he's one of the toughest bosses out there....

Asking coz, in most cases it just ends up being a normal attack for me. I'm trying R1, within striking range, right after the enemy drops on its knees.

I think you need to time it well, be near the enemy and hold r1 for the visceral attack to take effect....

 

Edit: practice it well, the next boss (bsb) is easier taken down with visceral attacks, without that the boss is way too difficult to take down with normal attacks !

I am just 'Pressing' R1, not 'holding it. Will try holding it maybe..

The same happened to me.Most of the net was like "STAY BEHIND THE BITCH" I tried that and she used to do the hand sweep attack

You could try a NG with Saw Cleaver or Cane and see if its easier

you just have to fight Papa G since hes mandatory and you get to face VA.

thing is without killing VA you cant progress in game
