and 15 years later we get to see someone who is even remotely close to him (not in terms of skill yet, but passion for racing)

No sh*t.....

Comparing Hamilton to Senna :roflroll:

Also, this isnt a anti-Hamilton/Mclaren forum.

Its clears this is an anti-Hamilton/Mclaren forum

Judging by the Vettel finger pics, nah! All are loved/hated equally

Dude, NOT.EVEN.CLOSE. Hamilton was a product of McLarens "catch them young, prime them for F1" strategy. He is not what they call a "natural racing driver".

btw, I ain't got anything against McLaren (my all time fav team) or Hamilton (whose championship win I celebrated coz he was driving a McLaren).

Not a natural racing driver? :roflroll: :roflroll:

You mean to say take any 7 year old and train him and he can become at WDC?

He is the best thing that has happened to F1 after the 2000-2004 disaster.

Many people did not like Senna during his racing days for being overly aggressive but because of the way it all ended no one talks about it now.

There is a reason they chose him. They saw his talent at the age of seven, whereas you and me at that age would have been happy with a lollypop.

OT : anyone seen the Senna movie yet?

Agreed, he's not even close to Senna.

But skill isn't something you can just keep increasing. You can hone it, but if you ain't got it now you're never going to get it anyhow. Not even with time or effort, else the third (test) driver who always does maximum time in the car would in time become far more skilled than the two main drivers.

Like senna said

The Hamilton Massa incident was a 50/50 but the Maldonado incident was not Hamiltons fault. Both Massa and Maldonado shut the door on him where as Schumacher did not. Even if you are right at least he crashes trying to overtake

Hamilton was over ambitious in overtaking massa and maldonado ..and if it was 50-50 massa would also been penalised..

Hey you guys.. Why so much hate for Lewis??

He is a fab driver. It's not easy to be fighting from 9th position to come all the way up. He did some awesome overtakes as well, in the beginning when he passed Schumacher.. that was brilliant!! Don't we all watch race to see some amazing chase, overtaking and thrill moments in racing.. Lewis, showed us that.

There have been some strategy decision gone wrong, but one cannot all blame Hamilton. He is an aggressive driver. If he was in the place of Button yesterday, I am sure he would have given Vettel some tough times.

All I can say is, it takes a lot of grit and courage to perform when penalties come in between you and your ambition. I look forward to his next race performance and whether black or not, he is a great driver Mclaren has.

Hamilton is unquestionably one of the greatest overtaker in F1, as well as arguably he is out-and-out fastest driver, that I have seen, with whatever I have seen in F1 racing.

"If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver."

The only difference being Senna used to go for gaps on the race track while Lewis seems to have a fetish for wedging his car into gaps in other cars' bodywork.laughing.gif

He is the best thing that has happened to F1 after the 2000-2004 disaster.

That would be the switch to Pirelli tyres. DRS a close second behind that.

I have seen the extended edition. Some great, never-seen-before footage. A very poignant tribute to the great man.

Hey you guys.. Why so much hate for Lewis??

I agree that he is a very, very good, albeit overrated, racing driver. But that's no reason not to hate him. I have it in for him because when it goes according to plan, it's all well and good and he has no problem basking in the glory but on off days he trashes his team in the public. On track, he is overly aggressive and has resorted to driving people off the road in the past. That would have been fine by me but the prick doesn't shut up when he gets it wrong or is on the receiving end. As if this wasn't enough, he is a lying, whingeing, arrogant prick thanks to whom millions of F1 viewers have to endure his gf's voice. :suicide:

More importantly, trolling is fun. :)

Massa and Maldonanld are racist thats why, how can they let a black driver overtake them?

Brundle summed it up in a single sentence..

U have no idea what u talking about then. The kind of bashing Senna got duirng his days is 10x than Hami (watch below vid)

Pirellis and DRS were introduced this year.

What about 2007? Controversial but still a super season. Hamilton was right inbetween things. Fuji 07 IMO was probably the most epic drive of this decade.

The 2008 Brazilian grand prix was the most watched F1 race of all time. Second being the 1999 Brazilian Grand prix. Hamilton gave F1 the excitement it lacked after the Schui-Mika era.

I am aware of the "bashing" Senna got during his days. If that is 10x what Lewis is getting, then, clearly, all of us here are not doing a very good job of bashing Lewis. :P

Which is after "the 2000-2004 disaster" last time I checked.

Yup, 2007 was awesome, especially because Hamilton choked like the South African cricket team at Interlagos and Kimi won. Most epic drive of the decade goes to Kimi at Suzuka, 2005.

The 2008 Brazilian grand prix was the most watched F1 race of all time.

And you attribute this to Hamilton alone? OK.

What of this video? I see Jackie getting pwnt by Senna and there is more pwnage in the full version of the same.

The modern day version of the above conversation with Lewis:

Jackie: Lewis, there has been more contact with you this season than with all of the previous world champions combined.

Lewis: Booyakasha.

Yea but there were more seasons in between which were not all about looking after tyres.

2007 - The least deserved WDC of all time? Gifted on a platter due to Mclarens policy of no Team Orders. Then again I would rather support a team who does not give orders than a team that does.

Yes, absolutely.

Every sport needs characters like this. People who wear their heart on their sleeve. Speak their mind. Like Hami himself once said on twitter

To those of you who care, thanks for your support, am on here for you. To all you haters… I just don’t give a f*** haha’,

We are a rare breed in India bro. We are not the glory hunters who started watching F1 around 00-04 and ended up supporting the team that was winning. And wat makes it worse is that they claim they have been Ferrari fans from the times they were wee little toddlers.

Im not saying all ferrari fans are but most of them.

I used to be a big supporter of McLaren when Hakinen used to drive, and when Kimi and David used to make Schumi's life difficult on track. After that it seems like they started hiring emo teenagers who can only drive fast on empty track and bitch about the team, the stewards, other drivers and everybody else in the world.
