Mercedes fked up their strategy by not pitting HAM, twice. There's only so much he can do with 40 lap old tyre. RBR instead played like they had nothing to lose and won in a slower car with sheer strategic brilliance. Merc fking up strat is not a new thing.

Anyone crying is just a whiner.

Merc and HAM messed up the strat.

RB and VER didn't.

Yeah agree with this I guess they were expecting lapped cars won’t overtake the safety car and would have lost position if they had pit but in the end it felt like the stewards decided who will win the championship and not the racers themselves.

Lol.

Stewards have always tried to maximize the racing laps of a race and especially during such a close battle. Have happened multiple times during the history.

Merc didn't pit when they should have because they had the speed advantage.

They brought it on themselves.

If RB had strategic brilliance, why were they trailing the whole race. Everyone at RB was dejected and praying for a miracle the whole race except the last lap

Max did a massive qualifying lap over Ham but in the majority of race, he was nowhere near Ham

This race was neither won due to superior racing skills nor strategy but pure luck because RB were pitting like the had nothing to lose because they didn’t have any other option or hope to beat Ham’s pace even with medium and hard tyres

Race was 58 laps long, not 1 lap long

Lapped cars were almost always allowed to unlap themselves under safety cars. The first decision to not allow them to unlap was baffling, but luckily they reversed it. FIA being the incompetent jokers is the running theme of this season.

Dude, do you understand the difference between strategy and speed of the car? Max's car was setup for qualifying, Ham's was for race. Only way RBR could win is by gambling with tyre and pit stops. Max had to pit first because his soft tyres were shot, Merc didn't have to follow but they did like an idiot. They gave up everything to keep Ham ahead because they knew Max would rather have an accident than let Ham overtake. And that strart blew up spectacularly in their face.

If someone even argues this then they are just a casual.

Yeah this entire season has been some sort of weird joke. But it's over now and I hope they don't carry this idiocy into the next season. But probably not

It was still the safety car at that opportune moment, that allowed the last lap to happen. Or am I missing something?

Edit: in other words, what could Mercedes have done to be better prepared for the safety car?
