btw ... they have not been banned ... its just that they have to prove that they have not stolen ferraris intell property ..... which i am sure they didnt ... so dont go celebrating yet ....

It has been "proven" by the puke sippers at the FIA that McLaren did know about the Ferrari data in possession of Mike Coughlan and that it had been used to gain an unfair advantage. So they have been stripped of all constructors points for this season and fined US$ 100 million less loss of FOM money. If any McLaren driver wins any subsequent race this season, no McLaren personnel will be allowed on the podium and no constructor's trophy will be awarded. But the drivers have been shielded because they provided evidence in the case. So the drivers championship is still very much on.

There is a reason why F1 personnel dont stand up and openly question the policies and decisions of the chiefs of the FIA. They get their asses handed to them thru manipulations and bending of moral and ethical codes of conduct. Ron Dennis, the principle of the McLaren team has long been an open opponent to Max Mosley, the president of the FIA. So this is Mosley's way of dealing with him.

A similar thing happened with Ken Tyrell and his Tyrell F1 team. Ken was a vociferous critic of the FIA's underhanded dealings and support to certain people and teams.

Flavio Briatore (Benetton and Renault) was a past favourite and Jean Todt (Ferrari) is the current mistress. and coincidently, both had Michael Schumacher as their driver during their respective controversies

Ken's team was banned from F1 because they were found to have used illegal fuel. But repeated counts of cheating against Benetton and Ferrari have usually resulted in inaction, or at worst, slap-on-the-wrist types of punishment.

It wasn't boring, just because Ferrari and Mclarens didn't battle it out. The race down the ranks was terrific, specially the fight between Kubica, Coulthard and Kovalainen. LMAO at Kubica, he was locking his wheel every time he crossed the first chicane. Poor Coulthard, my sympathies with him.

But as always, its just fun to watch those cars twist and turn at 200mph. Belgian circuit FTW !!

There's hardly been any on-track overtaking this season among the front runners. What's happening to racing? Everyone keeps waiting for pit stops to see who's overtaken whom. The only racing going on was between Kovalainen and Heidfeld. Ferrari should get rid of Massa and get Sato, then we'd see some on-track excitement :wallbash:
