SCHUMACHER TO DRIVE FOR FERRARI

Michael Schumacher is to sensationally come out of retirement to race for Ferrari in the absence of the injured Felipe Massa.

Seven-times world champion Schumacher, now 40, has not driven competitively since the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix in October 2006.

But Schumacher, who won five of his titles with Ferrari and who has been acting as an advisor to the team of late, will race in the European Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23.

"Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro intends to put Michael Schumacher in Felipe Massa's car until the Brazilian driver will be able to race again," Ferrari confirmed in a statement.

"Michael Schumacher said he is ready and, over the next few days, will undertake a specific training programme at the end of which confirmation will be given of his participation in the championship with effect from the European Grand Prix on the 23rd of August."

You are right about the psychological scars, but hopefully Massa can emulate Niki Lauda and get back into the cockpit.

As for Kimi, I dont think he has the absolute commitment required to win another title. Massa looks to have gotten the measure of him. That and the 2007 title seem to have robbed Kimi of his motivation.

kimi has always been like that,he is not a showboat like hamilton or alonso,i dont think many guys favour kimi in ferrari.trust me if given same cars to everyone kimi would be fastest man on track

btw has he driven this new car ?

Nope but he did some testing in last years car.

But Schumi should have no problems driving this years car, Kers button on first corner and 1st Ferrari win this season in Valencia :P:dance:

u guys r overhyping.i wouldnt be suprised he comes last in qualification in valencia

C'mon how can u say that , there are two practice sessions before qualifying starts , more than enough time for Schumi to do more than 200 laps of the circuit and get used to the pace and car like before.
