Snake
Blood Money for me. They need to bring this back....along with Ave Maria of course.
Aloy
New Hitman looks more like BM than Absolution Yeah,at least they listened to the fans. But why episodic..why?(I know 'cause of money but still..).

Absolution was not that profitable, so SE don't want to to take any risk now..
realsoccerdude111
I read that Absolution sold twice compared to blood money. But i personally feel that absolution was sh*t. Doesnt matter its gfx and able to gather up a huge crowd inside the maps.Graphics hardly matters in a stealth based game.
Aftrunner
Absolution was just absolute garbage. Not a single redeeming factor about it. I wasnt gonna touch this with a 10 foot pole since its pretty much a guarantee that the game will be thin on content but Indian Steam pricing might change my mind a bit. This so much this, Absolution was absolute garbage, no other way to look at it. All the fan's wanted was Blood Money 2 and they gave us this. Killed the whole franchise. Not sure if they can ever redeem themselves after that game. Sent from my MI 4W using Tapatalk
GeraltOfRivia
Also how many levels will be included in the game at the release is another worrying aspect. Launch content (March) : 6 missions in following 3 sandbox locations 1. Paris, France 2. Sapienza, Italy 3. Marrakesh, Morocco Post launch content : More missions in following 3 new sandbox locations 1. Thailand (April) 2. USA (May) 3. Japan (June) Full game : $60 March launch content : $35 ( $30 upgrade option for post launch content ) Although above image mentions Hitman Intro pack available to pre-order November onwards, it is not up for pre-order yet. dylanjosh
I'm okay with splitting the game like that, considering they've split the prices too to almost half

Aftrunner
So half the game for half the price? Thats not bad honestly. Of course it depends on what the game is. If its even remotely anything like Absolution, they can shove it.
GeraltOfRivia
Gameplay is supposed to be same as Blood Money/Silent Assassin (open ended levels with multiple ways to complete missions). It all depends on how big and varied these 6 locations are going to be. Best option is to wait for March content launch, check out the reviews and then: 1. If the game is bad, avoid it 2. If it is good, buy intro pack (and buy upgrade in June once all 3 new levels are out and reviewed) 3. If it is excellent, buy full game if you have faith in IO interactive or buy intro pack if you are doubtful about the post launch content quality. It would be even better in case Square Enix adds the option to buy each new post-launch location separately (rather than a single upgrade pack for all 3 locations). Aftrunner
Gameplay is supposed to be same as Blood Money/Silent Assassin (open ended levels with multiple ways to complete missions). Thats what they say but honestly I have zero trust in them. And considering the reviews Absolution got, I have no trust in most reviewers knowing what a good Hitman game is. Gonna wait for opinion from people who actually like Hitman and not the turd they pushed out.
i_rock098
Just 6 maps is a bit disappointing actually, should have been 8-9 like other hitman games. Plus this is Square Enix, no point in buying full price, it will be 50-75% off in like 3 months after the second half launches. Yeah.. and also check out some gameplay videos after release (without spoiling too much of the game of course) Just 6 maps is a bit disappointing actually, should have been 8-9 like other hitman games. Sent from my MI 4W using Tapatalk Yes, 6 maps is not much and that is why it all depends on how big and full of variety they are. In Blood Money, there were 12-13 levels, so if each location of new Hitman is equivalent to 2 locations of the past games, it is fine. About pricing, this applies for all games, so nothing special in particular about Hitman. Many people just want to play their favorite games as soon as possible. So, if a new game is great, I personally am not patient enough to wait for the sales etc.

realsoccerdude111
6 maps in 3 locations. Facepalm. It will be worthy for people who wont take guidance from youtube or do not mind travelling via similar spots on a map for 2 mission (per map) So they show us huge maps and then tell us that you are getting 3 maps at launch and 3 later on. Why not just make them considerably bigger than S.A /Blood money and give us 15-20 missions.
Heaven Angel
It is further changed. A change to the release structure, sees HITMAN become a truly episodic AAA game experience, with a major live component. Where players will perform contract hits on powerful, high-profile targets in exotic locations around the world. Starting with a Prologue Mission and a Paris location on March 11th, followed by the next location, set in Italy releasing in April and then Morocco releasing in May. From there HITMAN will deliver regular monthly content updates, including three additional locations; Thailand, the US and Japan until the season concludes in Japan later in 2016. With weekly live events and additional planned content in between the monthly updates. “We decided to take the full leap and publish HITMAN as a truly episodic game experience,” said Hannes Seifert, Head of Studio at Io-Interactive. “Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a HITMAN game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future – this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games.” A new Intro Pack now contains Prologue and Paris levels and will release at the new price of $15 (or local equivalent). Each subsequent location will be priced at $10 as an add-on item to the Intro Pack*. Alternatively, players can buy the Full Experience up front for $60. This includes all of this year’s content as it’s released, and guarantees them not to miss any live or bonus content. The disc version of HITMAN will ship at the end of 2016. PlayStation users will also gain access to The Sarajevo Six. 6 Bonus Contracts, one of which will be released with each location and sees Agent 47 travel the world in pursuit of six former members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA in this self-contained side-story exclusive for PlayStation 4 users. For players wanting to get into the game early, the HITMAN beta starts on February 12th on PlayStation 4 and February 19th on PC. Players can guarantee access to the beta by pre-ordering the Full Experience or the new Intro Pack. This initial game release will help us build the foundation for where we want to take HITMAN. The first game is part one of a storyline we see expanding over the release of subsequent games - so we want to make absolutely sure we get things right for what will be a great Hitman experience expanding over the coming years. This first step is going to shape what the games will ultimately become. As we’ve said before, we want to shape the game with the people playing it and by going down this route we believe we’re creating the best possible base for success. We will be able to respond much faster to feedback, analyse player behaviour and implement changes on a regular basis that simply wasn’t possible before. We’ll be able to craft a long story arc that spans multiple games while at the same time crafting smaller arcs and stories that will find their conclusions within each game. We will get the chance to craft missions and revisit locations in ways that we’ve never been able to do before. HITMAN will still launch on March 11th and that initial launch will include the Prologue and the Paris location. The big change is that the next location, set in Italy, will now release in April and then Morocco will release in May. From there we will keep monthly content updates coming, including the three additional locations we have already announced; Thailand, the US and Japan until the season concludes in Japan later in 2016. The weekly live events and additional planned content will give you plenty to do in the time between location releases. Of course you can still buy the Full Experience which is the complete first season, so all the content this year as it’s released, up front for $60 as always promised. Whether you purchase the complete game or buy each episode individually, we want to remind the community that there will be no micro transactions in HITMAN. Next steps! In less than a month, on February 12, the HITMAN beta will arrive first on PlayStation 4 and a week later for PC. We need to make sure our infrastructure and our technology can deliver on our promise with this new game and you playing the beta will be of tremendous help and value for us. You can get guaranteed access to the beta by pre-ordering the Full Experience and, as a new thing, also if you pre-order the new Intro Pack. Thank you for taking the time to read this. The last thing we wanted to do is change what we have already said, especially this close to launch, and for that we sincerely apologize. We hope you have a great 2016. We are looking forward to seeing you in the World of Assassination. tl;dr: HITMAN is now full episodic AAA game. Base for $15 (prologue and 1 mission.a.k.a demo in old times). Add-ons for $10/each. Full game for $60. Retail will ship end of 2016. Pre-order to get BETA access. Starts on February 12th on PlayStation 4 and 19th on PC.
