The group stages were great, but all teams have been overcautious in the knock-outs. I think the best WCs will always be the ones played in Europe simply because of the weather and all the American and African players play their club football there anyway, so there's no problems with getting used to the environment. That's why the ones he saved were the ones that weren't directed into the corners. I've always wondered why more goalkeepers don't do this. Puts more pressure on players to find the corner. Precisely because of this - "That's why the ones he saved were the ones that weren't directed into the corners." Waiting for the ball makes the keeper slow vis a vis the incoming ball. Yes, thinking about it para-match, it makes more sense probably to wait, but pressure gets you. Keepers would want to get the first movement as on face value it gives them time to catch up with the ball even if it's in the corner, providing it is shot at their diving direction.
