Piece of advice: If you're planning to 100% this game, do not go to the end of the second dungeon without collecting everything in Forlorn Ruins first. You won't be able to return to Forlorn Ruins once you complete the second dungeon.

I did this and now I won't be able to get 100%

10 hours and 400 deaths later, the end is finally in sight. Second escape sequence isn't as tough as first, but I like how as soon as you unlock new skill the game gives you no time to celebrate and immediately throws you onto a level and expects you to have completely mastered it. Got the new parachute? hurray, now you can glide across big areas. What's that, you wanna try it? Ok go across this bigass chasm with various wind drafts and 17 lasers and falling lava stones and narrow walls with spikes on them. Good luck.

Finished it. Damn, what an incredible experience! I almost cried a little at the end. Just no words. Best game I've played this year. Take a bow MS (both of them :P)

I see you crying in the PlayStation 4 thread everyday :(

One can't go back to the Ginsu Tree either right? I think a 100% run cannot be done on the first playthrough unless you know these things before hand.

Yeah, but IIRC, isn't Forlorn Ruins a much bigger section of the map that doesn't just include the second dungeon?
A warning like the one before the third dungeon would have been nice. Got 100% in all the areas except Forlorn Ruins :(
Anyway, just completed it. Loved it! I thought the difficulty was just perfect. Challenging but never frustrating.
Sequel please!!

Yeah it is. In the AMA I posted the devs answered this one complain

So you never know. Personally I don't mind it much. The subsequent playthorughs will be much faster now that one has a good idea of the mechanics and levels.

I get where he's coming from. It's still nice that they are looking into it though :good:

I'm usually not a completionist, but the gameplay in this is so enjoyable and the artwork so beautiful that I just want to have explored every nook and cranny.

The path to mount horu without all the powers just came close to infuriating. In particular I remember that one orb which was below the ground behind some platforms on a lava. I didn't die that much even on the final sequence as I did there. But it felt really good getting it once I did :D I had serious super meat boy flashbacks on that particular part lol. You are kidding right, no way this can be done. 30 deaths later. AWW YISS!! It becomes very trivial though once you unlock triple jump and have access to parachute but I didn't have them.

It's the one where you have to smash the ground with a boulder to gain access right? I remember straightaway diving into the lava there thinking it was water :P

Other than that it was a piece of cake for me like you said, considering I had the parachute, triple jump, charge jump, wall climb and what not
