Running on hard ground after many years and my first 10km.

No breaks, no water and followed by a 100 push ups.

Satisfied with it as the first run (although problem was that knees and shoulders were tested which is not good- heart and other parts were fresh throughout),

Any good channel on YouTube that has exercises for runners : stability and mobility kind , to keep knees etc solidf15d51089ee4b3f869f59fd584d4904b.jpg

Since last March I haven't been working out much. Everytime I thought about investing in home equipment, things started getting better and gyms started looking like an option again. Followed by things taking a turn for the worse.

But now I have given up that thought and want to get a decent set of weights at home no matter how the situation is.

So where can I get good quality dumbbells, 10/20KG rods, plates, floor mats?

I live in South Delhi.

Not looking to create a proper home gym right now but just enough to get the work done. Wouldn't mind a chest bench or a rack though.

Do you stay in an independent house/ multi-storey? If someone lives below you, you might need some thick gym mats too rather than the thin ones.

Plus don't buy those el-cheapo sand filled weights. Try and buy those decent quality ones. I think amazonbasics dumbbells should be fine something like this: https://www.amazon.in/AmazonBasics-Cast-Iron-Construction-Dumbbell-20-Pound/dp/B074DZ6NGS/

Just ensure you won't get bored at home. Unless I can push myself and increase weights, I tend to get bored in a month. Sadly continuing high-rep exercises for me isn't possible.

I live in a multi-storey building but thankfully the people who used to live below me shifted and have decided to lock the house down.

Still, I need some thick mats for my own convenience.

And heck no that I will go for sand weights, best I have found is Karol Bagh where you can get gym quality equipment for 100-120bucks/kg but I don't want to go there and would like for them to be home delivered.

I am not looking to increase weights, just want to get back to my earlier 145kg deadlift max etc. Cut the fat and back to muscle generation.

My regime used to include a lot of reps and functional, so I am good with churning out less weights.

Order some weights from a sports goods store. I have the bouncer ones in 15kg and 20kg , and hex for 10kg. Bench I bought a local one (3 way adjustable) for 4k, but imo spend more amd get the higher quality one. Other than that I got a pull up/parallel dip rack from amazon for 10k. Pretty awesome rack. Pics below.

145kg deadlift at home you are looking at cracking tiles/marbles plus noise. You will need a very thick matting, which will be very expensive.

I'll try to get them via one of the stores in Karol Bagh if they deliver. My mom will not like all these stacking up the extra store room though.

Aah, I didn't mean I'll keep doing 145, should have explained better. I'll do reps at 120kgs without throwing the weights down, wouldn't be a problem then.

Tried walking lunges today.

Got 500 with full range, would have gone for more if it wasn't a hard surface.

20 second(30 in later sets) break in between total 13 sets I guess.

Apparently 1m = 1 lungecaa64075246a4e3adf5484b6ebb55566.jpg

Can anyone tell how much would it cost if i wish to buy some dumbbells like 7.5kg and 10kg and bars with some weights.

Generally these things go by kg.

Pre-curfew prices were around 110-120 bucks/kg, this is in Delhi.

Obviously if you buy from Amazon or something like Decathlon, it will cost you more, anywhere from 50-100% more.

I have been trying to source proper equipment but delivery is just not working in Delhi so I am looking to get a set of resistance bands/tubes.

Has anyone bought any kind?

There are a few on Amazon, one kind which has 5 different tension tubes being hooked on a hand grip is being sold via many sellers, not sure if those are durable or not.

The ones from brands like Fegsy etc aren't worth it? They have carabiners attached to them so could have used them for many things.

I checked Decathlon and was initially gonna buy them only but their bands which have hand grips are too light and while the normal bands have the appropriate tension but don't have carabiners and no termination points which reduce the range of motion.

Damn, I had equipment all mapped out but delivery is a big hurdle. The supplier isn't ready to ship and even if she does then she wants 18% GST. Amazon, Decathlon sells weights for almost double or more.

Should have sourced this earlier.

The attachments break very quicky. And the tension isnt enough for cable crossover; lat pullodown , tricep pushdown etc, assuming thats what you want to do with them. Plus the bands themselves snap.

Decathlon bands dont have handles and all for gripping, agreed, but they are extremely durable and offer proper resistance.

You can try this brand slovic, i have one of those too and its good

Slovic is also selling those 5 tube, attachment sets. Same SKU, every seller is importing them from the same place.

I assume you are talking about the normal bands, the orange is rated upto 105LBs around 47kgs, that isn't a lot but might be doable. Decathlon has one of 60kgs.

Which ones you have? What are the tension levels and are you able to do all those exercises with them?

I have the red one from decathlon, able to do most excercises. Slovic one yes without hooks.

For decathlon what i did was cut it in half as it was looped. It's much better this way.

Slovic one came with a door anchor so most excercises are doable now.

I ordered a 2 pack from Slovic, medium+heavy.

Will start with that and if I find it light then I will get a black one from Decathlon as well.
