deohboeh
Hey guys! I am a 3d artist. I want to make video games. Any advice on how to approach the industry?
pArth
Do you have a portfolio? If yes then make it focused towards game art, filled with real time assets/environments.
deohboeh
Thanks for the reply pArth! Sorry for a vague post I couldn't think of what I wanted to say other than the fact that I wanted to say it.I am working on my portfolio and I have made art for PC/Console mostly. And most of the game studios I am able to see are working on mobile games. Also many posts are made regarding the dire state of the industry and how there are no jobs. I keep wondering if there even is an opportunity for an artist like me. Should I start with freelance or are there any studios that are making art like this? How is the job scene for an artist here? Are the jobs stable? With so many studios shutting down it makes me wonder...

playstationdude
The scope in India is very limited to be honest. But you could try pursuing a short term diploma/ degree abroad as better opportunities will be open to you.
Big Boss
Try abroad. Things are not good in India. Read story of Trine closing down on gamesinasia.com. Not good.
