Oh Freaking Hell !! This game looks freaking awesome. Forget GTA4. WE are talking about better than Killzone levels of graphical fidelity here. It even puts MGS 4's facial tech to shame. Check out the rings around the Don's eyes when he's talking in the restaurant. Mind Bending stuff !!!

Are you ready to experience the gritty underworld of the mob in high definition? 2K Games has released the HD trailer of its upcoming video game Mafia II. Developed by Illusion Softworks, Mafia II will feature a deep mobster-driven narrative packed with both behind-the-wheel and on-foot action. The Hollywood movie style action and gameplay illustrate the intensity of the mob’s criminal world.

The sequel to the successful Mafia, Mafia II immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940’s-early 1950’s scenario. Players will quickly become engaged in the game’s cinematic movie experience with strong, believable characters in a living, breathing city. By fusing high octane gunplay with white knuckle driving and an engaging narrative, Mafia II looks to be the industry’s most compelling Mafia title to date.

Mafia II will be available for next generation consoles and Games for Windows®.

I'm fully behind Mafia 2. That teaser video blew my socks off and looked way better than anything R* has shown till date of GTA IV. And I really loved Mafia. In many ways it is better than any of the GTA games mainly in its AUTHENTICITY.

what u see in GTA 4 trailers is what u play in the game or perhaps a bit better....i'm not too sure of this in mafia 2 !

And what exactly do u mean by AUTHENTICITY ? wasn't there any gangster based games before ? FYI, mafia came after GTA 3 :ranting: !

Authenticity meant the painstaking recreation of New York of the 30's depicted in Mafia right down to the working skytrain system, appropriately modeled cars with matching handling and speed characteristics, beautifully chosen weaponry and top notch dialogues and voice acting. Plus, the story had far more punch and emotion than any of the GTA stories.

^^ lol ! Do u think the recreation of NYC is not authentic in GTA 4 ? And the 80's environment was absolutely fantastic in GTA: VC, from the music to the clothes everything made u feel like u r in the 80s !

Just look at the real los angeles/san fransisco/las vegas and the cities in GTA SA - damn they even had the real life area 51 as area 69 !

Voice acting and music are some of the best ever in GTA games. Mafia is a great game....but your reasons to call it better than GTA series is just not proper !

Look dude, there's no point arguing about GTA v/s Mafia. You obviously are a hardcore GTA fanboy and will not look past the obvious differences between the two games, let alone the subtle improvements of Mafia over the GTA formula.

But still, Mafia has a terrific storyline which played out like a proper mafia thriller. It has supporting characters who you can empathize with and really feel for. It has amazing voice acting considering that many of the actors were not actually American. None of the GTAs give you these.

BTW, the recreation of NYC in GTA IV is still up for review since none of us have played the game yet.

Let me put it this way, Mafia is a sim, GTA is an arcade game.

^^ ok i agree i'll not be convinced, but i'll buy this too, since i liked mafia as well....makes me feel like playing it again ! should search for a copy now !

:ranting:

btw, if u like mafia so much, try playing Godfather....its not a sim, but some of the elements like extortion, storyline, gun fights, character customization etc are very well done....if u like the movie....this game is a complete blast !

The Godfather was good. I liked it but some missions were just damn frustrating.

But I'm with MT, I absolutely loved Mafia! And it's weird how Mafia looks loads better than Godfather even though it came out about 4 years earlier!
