Anyways, I don't think Afty can resist picking up Mafia 2 for PC. Not at that mighty fine price. Also, the console CE will be available here for 3499. BTW, any option for riding two wheelers in the game ? I didn't find any bikes or scooters in the demo. I doubt there would be an option to traverse with 2 wheelers in the full game. Spent some more time fiddling around with the demo and found a few things worth mentioning: - You can buy weapons and ammo straight away from any weapons dealer on the map - You can customise Vito's attire. - You'll find playboy magazines all across the city stores. So pick up one and you'll be treated with a new cover model and her info (no, not her contact info). - When caught by the cops, you can either bribe them ($200) or go down quietly. - Customise your vehicle. Add new rims, paint job (ridiculous choice of colours) & even change license plates. - If you're too close to a shot fired by a Pump action shot-gun, you die instantly. - You can jack cars way too easily compared to the first game - Cars handling is very robust. Joy Posted August 10, 2010 Report Share Posted August 10, 2010 Played the demo a bit, so far it great , the car that I drove in the beginning (Sports Car type convertible) was handling funny sliding around , then changes and stole pedestrian cars and handling is different for each vehicle. I have only done exploring the city , it has dirt roads as well at one section not any shooting at all. I am getting 35-40 fps at high with no AA and AF and physx off @ 1680x1050 with a Core 2 Duo E6750 and 8800GTX. One thing that disappointed me is the cops , they are not as great as last Mafia game and the voice over of the cops on mics is not that great when they are chasing you , just like Mafia u can outrun them and leave the car and then won't bother if they haven't spotted you , same if u steal another car while cops are not around they won't see u.Additonal thing was you can bribe the cops now personally unlike Mafia where it was done randomly at low level wanted star. Gonna continue the action part later , since I installed the patch the time froze at 9:59 , so only cruised around the city. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Joy Posted August 10, 2010 Report Share Posted August 10, 2010 Lol I fried up the demo the second time , and now I'm getting over 50 fps mostly and sometimes dropping to around 45. Its optimized very well for PC's. I guess the phsyx option was still on even after switching it off from options the last time.I guess it needed a restart. This time I'm using all on high 8x AF and no AA , with 16AF and 2AA fps drops to 35fps. Awesome , I switched the car handling to Simulation from options and voila it feels great to drive the cars now , no more sliding around like driving on ice. Also found the same speed limiter option as it was there in Mafia 1 to stay away from cops. Feels so smooth now Anybody knows how to jump , Space is not working for Jump , controls says its from Climbing , so I guess there is no Jump. Really bizarre cause Mafia 1 had Jump.
