The Assassin Posted August 11, 2010 Report Share Posted August 11, 2010 I had the same problem when I installed Steam recently when trying to install Alien Swarm. I suppose a lot of users who are installing the client off late have been facing this issue. Anyway, I tried pretty much every step mentioned on the Internet and failed, except this one. Steam Temporarily Unavailable Fix I just edited the clientregistry.blob file and changed the numeric value to 1, which I assume, shifted the server to a US one. Rebooted the client and it worked like a charm. Try it out and see if it works. It is showing "Contact the Steam network.Please try again later." when I tried the above procedure. I think it'll be in the settings or somewhere like that. You can edit out your current e mail ID and enter new email ID and send a confirmation mail to that and get that one registered. If you're logged into Steam client, then click on Steam on the top - settings - change contact email address. Just enter your password and you're new email address. Joy Posted August 11, 2010 Report Share Posted August 11, 2010 Finished the demo just now , shooting is very satisfying. The demo ended so cheesyly with To Be Continued ending , I thought I was gonna save him , its very similar to Mafia 1's A Trip to the Country lvl where Sam gets shot and is helped by Paulie and u have to take him to Doc quickly in a car before timer goes out and he dies which results missions over , only difference is there you're chased by thugs here by cops. OMG picked up the Playboy mag inside the house where Vito starts , and its a fully naked pic and not art like The Witcher Collecting 50 these will be. As soon as I quit the game, the contrast is completely dimmed out. I have to reboot the PC to get it back to normal. I think, this only happened after I modified the .exe for that time freeze.
