Got my card :D

Let me know what temperatures are you getting idle/load..

One of my friend got the mini edition delivered today from itdepot..

so we wanted to know if there is any major difference on temperature perspective..

So I guess you guys have heard about the price drop on the RX 480.

4GB variant will now go for 20.9k and 8GB for 22.9k.

Much better now.

I wonder how their partners will price their cards now. Some of them might be adamant but this is the only way they can compete with the GTX1060 now.

@ambar isn't your CPU *bottlenecking* the card? Did you OC it?

I mean that's a really old chip dude. >_>

33-35 on idle.

65 C on load while playing Witcher 3.

nice to see the price drop - What do i do ? Red Team or Green team ? will the 8Gb of RX480 matter in the long run over 6gB GTX1060 ?

It does not make a difference now at all, might have in the future, yes but not a decisive factor to be counted on now.

i have a AMD FX 8320 processor so does it have any benefit of using an AMD Gpu ?

Nope, nothing so.

you are the flag bearer for AMD, you do the count. Nvidia is Evil and AMD is white knight booohaaa

It is not much different about you crying over a character skin in Overwatch.

Fact is fact. You will easily find a multitude of titles coming out under the nVidia Gameworks programme and hey if that is false, prove me. But oh! No.

I don't play Overwatch - not sure if it line was for me.

Your continuous defense for AMD being nicer than Nvidia is so naive - I am not a supporter or hater of any company or brand. But really want people like you to make forum fun and entertaining by offering such argument - keep up your good work.

In DX11 games nvidia is better, as their driver has less CPU overhead. Speaking from personal experience as I have 1055T and I upgraded from 280 to 1060.

And you're basing your argument on what.

nVidia is clearly ahead in the GPU department for now, on all fronts and that has been acknowledged but lets not bullshit ourselves that there is parity in the number of AMD and nVidia supported titles.

If you have something to counter that logic, instead of LoL y0ur AMD f4nboi then we can talk.

Oh! And that Overwatch shot was for you, do not try to act naive simply because you posted it on facebook instead of in the forums.

TBH either will do. It will boil down to the pricing. There really is no clear winner here. As for the optimizations which people mentioned here you can't tell that either. Just get a good variant of either card with better value.

If I was in your shoes I would be as confused as you. But having options is nice and monopoly sucks.

I personally also look at other areas like the aesthetics or design, temps and power consumption etc. The Zotac GTX 1060 Amp! is nice. Would be equally nice if Asus makes an RX 480 variant of its GTX 1060 1070 Dual (White). Performance wise the GTX 1060 Amp! should will be better.

For now GTX 1060 is the clear leader on all fronts. I do not even know where the RX480 custom cards are currently. Seen only one odd review of them in the wild whereas nVidia is going all guns blazing with multiple revisions of the card at almost all price points.

Indeed. You posted it before i could edit. :P But AMD fans aren't going to want to buy the GTX 1060 just because of the 10% increase in performance when the RX 480 cost lower and can save them a few thousand rupees. BTW, LOL Asus

I'm waiting for a white RX 480 variant of the Asus GTX 1070 Dual. Hope the pricing is good.

this is a good practice to increase you post count, lowest low of a MOD in any forum

Looks good.. We tested the mini one yesterday with Far Cry 3, the only graphically demanding game he had for now :) ..

31 C on idle..

75 C on load @1080p and ultra settings with auto fan profile..

Using a custom profile to make the fan run linearly with the GPU temps, and was able to reduce to 70C on load..
