^ Can say the same about the pricing of all other cards.

It never works on the direct price conversion + overheads + profits, formula. According to that logic the PlayStation 4 and XBox ONE should have come in sub ~30,000/- and ~35,000/- respectively.

With AMD it is pronounced because they have launched all their cards in the sub ~25,000/- market and have announced prices which will take at-least till the end of this quarter to be sorted out.

Hey guys please read my post i made on Anandtech forum to get a clear picture of how badly AMD has messed up the sub $150 graphics card market.

The comparison is on this page.I made a comparison between R7 260X vs RX460 and GTX650Ti vs GTX950 to see which company has made more progress in the last 3 years. The results are very surprising.

^ And we are supposed to ignore the other posts after yours?

Ofcourse not.All opinions are valid. But its hard to ignore how terrible of a card RX460 comes out to be at $150 in usa and almost $250 in India.

And look at this.

Asus ROG Strix RX 460 will be available worldwide starting August 8, 2016. The Strix RX460-4GB OC variant is priced at Rs 16,000. :roflroll:

What can you say about that?

How was it a pricing thing in India that you were debating there, you tried to justify the so called performance gap between an AMD card vis-á-vis an equivalent from nVidia from c.2013 to today and people gave you their answers, which you then tried to spin off into you know the card is totally not worth it.

What can you say about that?

PR for ASUS GTX1060's.

The Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1060, Turbo GeForce GTX 1060 and Dual GeForce GTX 1060 launched worldwide on 19th July 2016 and are available in India for the following prices*,

Strix GTX 1060 - Rs. 31,350/-

Turbo GTX 1060 - Rs. 28,500/-

Dual GTX 1060 - Rs. 28,500/-

Bhai, better start a change.org petition if it is biting you so much that AMD has been priced so in India.

Difference is clock speeds is only about 50Mhz.. But cooling wise amp will be good due to heat pipes hence will offer better overclocking capabilities..

check few previous posts to see what we had posted about actual gaming temps..

Yeah heatpipes.I had a dream maybe 2-3 days ago where i was holding a graphics card with heatpipes and another same model but without heatpipes.I was so fascinated by those 4 sexy golden heatpipes that i wanted to kiss the heatpipes.I don't remember the rest.

NVIDIA Announces the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB - $199

NVIDIA rolled out the GeForce GTX 1060, a new mid-range graphics card starting at US $199 (MSRP), with custom-design cards ranging between $199-229. Based on the 16 nm "GP106" silicon, this card has not just half the memory as the original GTX 1060, but also fewer CUDA cores. The card features 3 GB of memory across its 192-bit GDDR5 memory interface. It features 1,152 of the 1,280 CUDA cores present on the silicon. Other specs include 72 TMUs, and 48 ROPs. Its core is clocked at 1506 MHz, with 1708 MHz GPU Boost, and 8 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. The card is targeted at gamers still on 1080p.

$199 $199 $199 $199 $199 $199 $199 $199 $199 :punk:

10-15% Faster than RX470.

Am hoping Indian MSRP starts at 17,990 onwards to combat the RX470.

So how would the import price of graphics card be affected by this new piece of information?:

That seems to be for imports by individuals. Don't think it will impact mass imports. Edited by playstationdude

But that means that I will be able to pay way less price than I would normally for these cards. Shouldn't that help drive down the price of the local market here?

For ex if i import the 1080 for 699 USD or around 40 K the maximum issue would be that I wont have the warranty. However, I am basically paying around 30 K premium for the same at the moment. Can I not just buy another card at the same price if the card actually goes kaput by the next couple of years?

No , don't think so. Unless the government reduces import duty on mass imports(which is highly unlikely given how that is counter productive for make in india), the acquisition costs for retailers and distributors will remain the same here.

I think this might be a smart move in favour of make in india. If individual imports become cheaper than or comparable to mass import prices, more companies might just consider setting up plants in India.

Well technically that is correct and market would autocorrect prices, but that can happen only when the gross margins are that high(15-20k ) on each 1080, which I highly doubt tbh. Edited by playstationdude

Yeah I just assumed since now importing makes more economic sense the distributers will have to up their game. I shall look forward to what black friday will have in store this time

Also on the 1080 these goons are getting crazy margins. The price is almost double here.
