Am hoping Indian MSRP starts at 17,990 onwards to combat the RX470.

And if it does not happen, will you have wet dreams about heat-pipes?

Well technically that is correct and market would autocorrect prices, but that can happen only when the gross margins are that high(15-20k ) on each 1080, which I highly doubt tbh.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am quite sure they are at-least making ~10,000/- per card sold at that level if not higher.

The prices that the GTX1080 has launched at are traditionally reserved for dual-GPU solutions or premier prosumer components like TITAN's.

The price jump on the GTX1070 and GTX1060 segments though is absurd.

A gross of 10k( for the retailer + distributor) per 1080 isn't too bad, tbh. Though I'm not sure what metrics these guys use to set the gross margin on each card so I won't comment on what margins are justified :P . Though I reckon they would need more margins on these cards as high end graphic cards would be a niche market here.

@Alpha17 How about a asus strix gtx 970 with 2 years warranty remaining @13.5k? worth it? I'm mostly targeting 1080p..

For that price,i think its a good buy.

Yeah even that deal didn't go through... Now postponing my purchase plans till Nov/Dec when I will try to the 1070 from US again via a friend..

Stuck with my old n trustworthy 660 till then :drunk:

No worries, wait for a few weeks and there will be plenty of old gen GPU sales not only here but on other forums as well. If you have a friend in the U.S. then you can get old gen models for cheap from reddit hardware swap.

Main reason to avoid nVidia's custom GPU's with single fan open-cooler design. ~75° C plus in an A/C environment. Not good numbers to have in our country.

Possible leak of the GTX 1050. GP107, CUDA 768 cores, 1.38 GHz, 75W TDP.

What do you guys think?

Wait and watch for now. Would like to see how it stacks up against the RX470 and RX460 because as of now the RX470 is pretty close to the GTX1060 3GB variant and actually pulling ahead in V-RAM extensive games.
