There was youtube video i watched a week or two back where the guy totally called it. He said even in Nvidia cherry picked benchmarks the performance was nowhere near 2x. He said realistically we're looking at a 40 percent performance improvement which is great in itself. There was also some point about how the newer architecture Tflops were around 30 percent less efficient than the last architecture.

I had a dude selling 2080S for 40k on OLX, and I could've easily haggled him down to 35k. Now I regret not going for it.

1080p:
  • +15% vs 2080 Ti
  • +30% vs 2080 Super
  • +35% vs 2080
1440p:
  • +23% vs 2080 Ti
  • +43% vs 2080 Super
  • +52% vs 2080
4K:
  • +32% vs 2080 Ti
  • +56% vs 2080 Super
  • +67% vs 2080
I know nobody is going to use the 3080 on 1080p but i gotta say the improvements on 1080p are extremely dissapointing.

Hmm, after a bit of comparison with CPUs

Ultra - all maxed out

High settings

Seems pointless for me to upgrade CPU which also require me to change motherboard and everything. Just slotting in 3080 gives pretty much 60FPS average on all titles at ultra except RDR2 (averaging at 58 but much better at high settings - 74 to 100).

i7-2600K still got few more years before dropping completely out of 60FPS average.
