Ne0
Completed like some 4 chapters in the game. Midway through 'assault' chapter now. While the gfx are breathtaking....the missions are so repetitive. So far I've had only 2 types of missions: 1. Go to a checkpoint and gather intel. 2. Destroy a signal jammer. But the game world is so huge you get to do the same missions, in different ways as per your fancy. I still wish they had some variety in the missions though. Ignore the mission aspect and jus play enjoying the graphics, That is what the game is all about..... And also the BG music will be great .... It's a straightforward FPS... like all FPSes, it's about killing bad guys and moving on. This isn't Mass Effect or even GTA. And for an FPS it gives you a lot of freedom. StormShadow
The game has some spectacular set-pieces later. The best part for me was the fact that you could approach a skirmish in many different ways (at least in the open levels). And do give Warhead a spin after you're done with this. It's a more badass version of Crysis with a badass protagonist. +1 cheers.
AtheK
Crysis warhead >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Crysis

I got the assault scope, grenade launcher attachment and the sniper scope. The FY-71 is an an all purpose weapon now....totally awesome. BTW, still playing all maxed at full HD....the game stutters now and then, but not to the extent of unplayable.
Tyler
MW2 as a benchmark for quality FPS (SP)... interesting.
Ne0
^^ No its not. That would be Half life 2 for me . But the amount of variety you get in MW 2 missions is awesome. Its the same old "kill bad guys and move on" premise, but the way the levels are designed, you feel as if you are having variety. You take the same enemies racing in a snowmobile, or using a striker or a predator strike. That brings some newness in gameplay. But in crysis, you have 1 or 2 weapons, a huge world, and some enemies thrown in and the missions are the same. For ex: they could've introduced some vehicle aerial missions, some pure stealth missions etc. I'm not saying Crysis is a bad game, but I just wish they had a better game/level design. Ne0
Now in the awakening chapter. I'm lovign the game now. Yes, gameplay wise nothign has changed. I'm still doing the same disabling jammers, blowing up AA guns and gathering some intel here and there. But I'm really liking the open world design and the gorgeous beauty and physics. Ne0
i know the freeze part. It was advertised heavily everywhere as a major resource hog.
Tyler
So I was messing around with various mods, more specifically the particle effects/physics mod and the third person view mod. It's actually a lot of fun playing in third person. It's not perfect but it works. It makes the game harder and the gun customization screen is screwed up in third person. But if you want to try something different with the game, give it a shot.

AtheK
lol @ third person view, i guess it would be fun. @ty: More frame drops ater using it?
Joy
Third Person View , I didn't knew about this. Tried it looks awesome , but how to enable crosshair in third person view. I have added -devmode to the shortcut and F1 works as a switch between first/third person view.
Tyler
lol @ third person view, i guess it would be fun. @ty: More frame drops ater using it? Nah, there's very little impact on the frame rate (almost none actually). I have added -devmode to the shortcut and F1 works as a switch between first/third person view. I'm doing it via a mod not -devmode. Google "GOC BT mod for Crysis". It adds new options to the suit menu for toggling third-person and BULLET TIME! Joy
^^ It works only in 32bit. I searched a bit , even with devmod crosshair can be enabled. You have to quick save when in third person , after a quick load the cross hair will be there.
