Everybody wants a boy. They don't understand that 25 years down the line the same boy will be finding it difficult to find a bride. Normally market forces should even things out, but somehow they don't. there are lot of fears of a girl child thanks to our customs and people's mentality ....dowry ...rape ..unmarried etc. In foreign countries they tell the mother and father if they gonna have a girl or boy during pregnancy tests itself . In India we have had to put restriction to that as well because of parents going for abortion shows how much pressure is on girls even before they are born. But I won't support dividing of states for personal political gains. Problem is division of states in recent times have not always heralded growth or even any change in the standard of life to the general populace. It has ended up being a political tool with profits to be appropriated by the government and bureaucracy forming the new state. And every state that breaks apart is used as front by other communities / political groups to further demands for more such breakaways. Social and cultural mindsets on certain topics, such as this are wonderfully skewed in this country. People doing this aren't inherently evil but trying to follow the societal 'norm'. She doesn't know which election this is or what the difference between the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha is. During the General elections she wanted to vote for the Modi government but she didn't know that there was an alliance between BJP and Shivsena and ended up getting all confused and voted NOTA.
