Liquid ocelot
Looking sweet...can wait for this to release...2012? seeing how starcraft 2 has been pushed to 2010. Some parts of teh video, didnt look very cut scenish. It looked tlike the real game engine itself. Wonder whats happening with that.

Bulovski
Blizzard has always pulled up awesome cutscenes. I doubt that any of the movies are using the game engine. But I don't like the art motif of WoW in the movies - it's ok in the game. This just goes back to the old old days of Starcraft and Diablo. Any of you remember the cinematics from Diablo II and Warcraft 3 - the opening cinematics were simply amazing. Diablo II - the asylum scene, and then Warcraft III - the orc rush
kaiserbreath
The models look low poly , and if you see the gameplay vids you will see the similarities. They have cheated a bit for the flaming palm scene however. They FMA are usually really well scripted , shot and rendered, I guess they where doing the class introductions as a inhouse jig. Which is why I was alittle dissappointed with this one,but they didnt really seem like cut scenes...who knows, who cares, the game looks great, trust in blizzard. Looks like theyve got the starcraft style right now,so maybe it's an initial thing.
kaiserbreath
Oh yea asylum , especially loved the "baal corpse explosion" and the "worldstone sword throw" The "arthus takeover" was the craziest of the lot in war3. The monk and wizards were not cut scenes however could be called machinima i guess using the game engine.
Bulovski
Actually now that you mention it looks to be machinima - possibly it's too early in the game for them to be working on cinematics. They have a separate team after all for that.
The JACKAL
the monk is more like an alternative to the Assasin in diablo
Bulovski
There was a monk class in Diablo: Hellfire
Tyler
Is this game PC only ? Yes Mr. PCGamingIsDead. I want D3 now... @bul, I'd add Tassadar's Sacrifice from StarCraft as well. It was brilliant. The music was epic!
Ne0
Yes Mr. PCGamingIsDead. bummer, but I guess its way too cumbersome to play Diablo on a console !

I just love the voice-acting in all the Blizzard videos; especially Deckard Cain.
Tyler
bummer, but I guess its way too cumbersome to play Diablo on a console ! Diablo is still much simpler than Sacred 2, which was ported to the consoles (and apparently was a disaster). I'm sure D3 on consoles can be done but Blizzard doesn't want to. Tyler
Oh btw... Blizzard: No Diablo 3 Release for 2010 Much news and excitement has derived from BlizzCon today but a release for Diablo III next year is not happening. CEO Mike Morhaime has confirmed that the just-revealed World of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm and StarCraft II are the two titles the company expects to hit in 2010. Ne0
I'm sure D3 on consoles can be done but Blizzard doesn't want to. but why ? Blizzard would get to sell more copies and less chances of piracy as well. Since activision is involved let us see, it might even end up on consoles. If there is no technical limitation and more money can be made, I think Activision will pitch in for a port to the consoles
Ne0
Oh btw... Blizzard: No Diablo 3 Release for 2010 lol, looks like they are afraid Diablo 3 might steal some of the WoW's expansion pack's thunder....which is their primary cash cow .... the influence of activision is showing

Bulovski
Oh btw... Blizzard: No Diablo 3 Release for 2010 totally expected after SC II got delayed but why ? I would say Battle.NET would be the biggest stumbling block. It has a huge trading community and managing it on PSN / XBL and PC would be killing. That's one headache. Also Blizzard is completely anal about quality and would concentrate on getting every detail right like the control scheme - getting it to work on the consoles might not be something they would want to invest in. lol, looks like they are afraid Diablo 3 might steal some of the WoW's expansion pack's thunder....which is their primary cash cow .... the influence of activision is showing nope - I would say Battle.NET and SC II. SCII hasn't even gone into Beta yet and they don't want to screw up SC II. Anyways they got a lot of flak for splitting up the game into three episodes so they have to come with a strong entry. Battle.NET is geared for each specific game - so they will ensure that it works for SC II first, then go onto D3 development. As far as cash cow goes Blizzard has the biggest in the world in their pocket anyways.
