Yup....need constant server access.....Got kicked out of the game today morning because my router restarted.

I hope it is like Demon's Souls / Dark Souls, where your progress is saved... Cos even in the Souls franchise, if you playing online and the internet goes off then you are kicked out of the game, but the game is saved till THAT very moment. I hope this is the case with Diablo 3 as well..

Always online is a bummer for Indian gamers majority of whom still rely on horribly unreliable ISPs like BSNL.

Otherwise once this initial bull-run calms down after a couple weeks and B.net servers are able to dig their feet in, I suspect it should be a pretty seamless affair as long as your ISP is good.

I guess in an ideal world where there was no piracy and noone edited character files to give themselves the very best gear, an always-on DRM wouldn't be necessary. But that's never gonna happen, so Diablo fans have to suck it up...

Witcher 1,2-CD Projekt RED(No DRM)-The Witcher (PC) sold 2.1 million and The Witcher 2 (PC) sold 1.1m – both numbers are for the end of 2011.

^^Nothing against you mate... But way too many smileys....

Staying on the topic... Never knew that all the loot would be lost if we were disconnected... You sure about that?

PS: The biggest flaw in Diablo 3 is staying forever online.. Nothing will beat this..

Diablo 3 would've sold more than those in a week....Blizzard would be looking at sales on a much bigger scale....and at the end of the day, lets face it, its blizzard....they can make whatever rules they want, and fans will still buy their games :ack:

Game's awesome. There is a fair bit of hand-holding in the beginning. It's been 12 years after all.

Even with a very high ping (600ms+) the game is surprisingly playable. Most of the time I had pings in the 300ms range, and played absolutely fine.

The game is still as fun as before. The fun gets multiplied exponentially when you play co-op. The skill progression is super fast.

The biggest reason D3 will never be offline is because of the Auction House. Since there is real money involved, Blizzard has to be absolutely sure that there is no chance of duplication.

Agreed. I mean how hard would it be to create the online auction house to be a component that's only accessible when you're solely online? Sure the experience may be butter smooth and the save system lenient, but let's face it, this isn't a game, you don't own it, you can't use it as you see fit, you're Blizzard's bitch.

This will have repercussions in the long term.

Playing on Normal Difficulty (as Demon Hunter) and the game seems easy so far.

Even the first Big Boss (Skeleton King) was easy.

Anyhoo, will continue in Normal and bump up the difficulty in second play through.

Leveling Up BlackSmith skill sucks though. (Uses up too much Gold)

Currently am at level 11 and not tried Co-op so far.
