Though we have sorted out finance, place, model etc, we recently came to know that a gaming lounge needs permission of chennai police to be obtained in commissioner office and not from respective circle office. The people in police stations suggest to take the premises on rent and then we need to apply formally. They further add that its difficult to get license and that we would need good recommendation and the license may not be granted even then.. Taking a premise on rent requires to give 10-12 months rent as advance to land lord. So after taking the premises if they dont give license or drag the time, it would incurr heavy loss to my friend. Have worked for a long time to set this up they probably got confused between a gaming console parlour with the other local video game outlets (slot machines, poker etc) which needs a license and is not easily available. Ya ive read court decisions that they can only regulate and cannot do away with opening a business. This was for a massage parlour. When he died his son made it a gaming parlor which has been on from I think 1986.
