Man, that Nikon is one serious piece of kit. I'm guessing that BMW is yours too. Awesome pictures bro :majesty:

But tell me, I still only have an "above average" camera.. whatcha call it.. prosumer-level Olympus camera. What kind of money should one spend to be able to take both outdoor and indoor pictures the way you do with such flair. I mean camera body + kit + what else is needed. And what would be the price for all the things you'd need really.

That's my friend's brand new BMW. Start with a D3000 body only + 35mm f/1.8 lens + Nikon SB400 flash. It will cost 35-40K. With this you'll get very sharp images, no more crummy indoor pics and the ability to shoot in raw and therefore adjust the vibrance, saturation, contrast etc in lightroom (which drastically improves your pictures)

Thank you for the advice anshul. :good: I'll ask you this again when I earn enough though. Probably within another year I guess. So it isn't as hideously expensive as I thought before. Just like buying a cellphone these days.

Thank you too Deathstryke for advice via twitter.

finally my dad has submitted to the digital age and now wants a Digital SLR for himself . need some suggestions . requirements would be basic good quality still photography (>10mp) , 1080p video , non blurry lcd ( the sony ones just suck at it) , hdmi out , good quality built in microphone for recording videos. and most of all a high storage support. budget <25k :fear: ... would be looking for something that does not need a upgrade for sometime. that is it :D pour in your advices.

for <25K, u'd only get a Canon 1000D or Nikon D5000 (or is it D3000)

either ways, entry level digital DSLRs. None of the features u are looking for like 1080p video, good lcd, hdmi out, etc.

Also, ur main expens would be around lenses. u'll get an 18-55 lens kit (try to get one which has Image Stabilization). The next lens to buy would be a 50mm 1.8f portrait lens. Rs5000 and amazing clarity.

Go upto Rs 35K and and buy Canon 550D eyes closed (or the Nikon equivalent. Nikons are usually great for beginners and have a slight advantage over Canon in terms of color). 720p recording. but thats about it.

^ ..Cute pic though.

haha that was posted by my brother from the states. It inspired me to take out all the old albums and scan tons of those really old (and very cute) pictures and put them on facebook. Three (for now) whole albums are up in my Facebook Photos section titled "Blast from the Past" 1, 2, and 3. Took me several days of scanning and cutting and correcting faded pictures a little with Lightroom and Photoshop.
