All the metadata is on flickr. Just click on the pic and then nikon d700 on the right.

Oh nice, I always avoid using full 250mm on my 55-250 lens since the image comes out too soft, but thats one of the kit lenses. Yours look properly sharp.

@Athek: Paid $633 for it. Thats the best price that I could find.

@Death_Styke: But T1i supports HD video...1080p @ 20fps. In any case, the noise itself would render HD video shooting worthless. Will get a HD camcorder in a month or so.

@Anshul: Makes sense. Haven't thought about the flash. Any suggestions?

To top it all, UPS delayed the delivery by two days because of the snow and now it shows that the "Reciever refused to accept the delivery". Need to find out what exactly happened once I get back home. I hope I can go pick it up from their offices tomorrow.

Canon 270EX.

Tilt the flash towards the ceiling and you'll get great results.

@Athek: I went too sadly my camera was with the mrs for a baby-shower for her cousins. oh well ... it was an okish event imo

On another note, how is Lightroom for photo management and a little bit of touching up? I hear its quite good and it even offers lens correction filters?

Lightroom 3 is pretty awesome and unless photography is your bread and butter, it is more than enough. Decent learning curve and great library management too. Plus great variety of lens correction and other filters available online too. I prefer Aperture since I am used to it, but LR3 is quite good too.

@Bul D3100 is quite good. A great first DSLR. Dont think much. It would be a great 720p video shooter too. But dont expect the continuous focus to be good in the D3100 due to the noise it generates. Otherwise, I would suggest you fork up for a few more grands and get the T1i or D5000. Much better investment.

Lightroom 3 is amazing if you shoot raw. It does a great job with noise reduction, recovery and fill light (though the last 2 also depend on the compression of the raw file). The gateway and 2 bulbul pics are heavily tweaked in LR3 and still look natural.

@Ne0: Thanks!

@Anshul: Thanks! I am trying to learn what do you manipulate and what is the difference between the original and the end product.

Here are a few pics taken by me, test-shots really:

Image Shack wont show the thumbnail for some reason, hence the direct link.
