I think if you look at the right places, you can get the D3100 for 27k and the Canon 1100D for 25k. Which are much sensible buys in the long run as i said above.

Guess I'll wait till next month until I get back to UK...should be cheaper there.

i have a 500 D stock with 18-55, please suggest which should be my next lens and what other things should i be looking to get for the camera.

 

How are sigma and tamron lens, is this any good -->

Okay so I'm going to the market in a while and will pick up the D3100.

 

Hopefully the stock lens should suffice for now.

Don't go for sigma lenses, i some how not found some decent images with my friends Sigma lenses. In 70-300sigma lens , when shooting at 300mm, the picture does not gets sharp enough. My best advice would be to go to 55-250 Canon lens itself. At times you can shoot some brilliant portraits with this lens and at 250mm, pictures are relatively sharp.

 

Btw, i too have 500D with 55-250 Canon lens .. just my views on it :)
