anirbanfifa
The MOON photo was taken with my friend's canon 500D with a 55-250mm canon lens. This was my first encounter with a SLR. Though i know about SLRs after I have read about all cameras from various sites for the past 5 years. I always wished one but couldn't afford it. This month I will buy a Canon 550D with kit lens and 55-250mm lens. Do you guys think i have taken the right choice. I have chosen this model cause i am comfortable with canon and it suits my budget though i have seen the nikon d5100. Hope you all liked the photo. Anshul
@ Techguitar, Nikon D700 body with Nikon 16-35, 70-300 and sigma 50 f/1.4 lenses
TechGuitar
That is one good body you got ! How long you been into photography ? I've only been into if for a year now. Got a canon 500D, 18-55mm kit lens, 70-300mm telephotos & 50mm f/1.8 Pretty much the same lenses we have but that body you have makes a huge difference. Here are some pictures from the 2 matches I saw today. These are among the best from 1600 snaps. Took a long time to sort. Anshul
Got my first dslr a year ago. There's a huge difference between the 16-35 and 18-55 On Full Frame cameras it becomes an Ultra Wide Angle lens. And it's one of the sharpest lenses out there. TechGuitar
^^ Yes I know. I said we have 'pretty much' the same lenses. Not the exact same The 50mm is the best I have. Love the shallow depth of field. Though the 50mm focal length feels like a constraint at times when you want a wide angle...but its still pretty awesome. Anshul
^^ Finding a location for a proper view of lightning is tough and then being ready for it is even harder

praveer
Welp ! I need some tips over how to properly write letters using long exposures, I want to write an "I <3 U" message for my GF (including her name, which is just 4 alphabets) and give it to her as a postcard....but everytime I try it the words come out either too close, overlapping or quite unclear. The max exposure time my camera can go is 30" , so I have a short window. And ofcourse I am doing it alone or else I'd rather have had someone hold the shoot button for as long as possible using the bulb mode. Not sure, if u would have the patience to follow my instructions ... 1) Take a newspaper and paint it completely with black ( a bit tedious work ) 2) Cut the words in reverse that you want your GF to read, according to the size that you need. 3) Now, just place it like a screen so that once you have set the timer in your camera, you can go behind the paper and just follow work cuttings, it saves a lot of time and comes perfect. (try using a complete dark room) P.S: I use Move controller to do the light painting, never been disappointed Hope this helps, your GF would be impressed
