Death Stryke
Below 10k..well, options r limited. Guess u stick with the phone for now My next purchase would be the 24-135mm lens. I wish i could afford the 24-70mm f/2.8L though ...that would be the ideal walkabout lens. What lens do SLR owners here have???.. I have an 18-55, 55-250 and 50mm f/1.8

The Wolfy among us
^^ what are you looking for? Macro photography, or telephoto zoom, or landscapes?
Death Stryke
Yea, u need to specify what is your usage going to be. Ideally, for a starter lens, along with the kit 18-55, pick up a 55-200 or 55-250 mm lens for nature and animals and a 50 mm el cheap prime for portraits. Death Stryke
Nice stuff kanbad! Guys, I need some pointers on external flashes. The built in flash obviously is the sucketh. And inspite of using decently fast lens (50mm prime), low light photography is difficult because even if the background is well lit, the subject in the foreground is under-exposed. Happens even in daylight so some flash can light up the subject too. Anyone here use external flashes? I've seen studio guys bounce them at 45 degrees. But I'd like some pointers as to how and when ext flashes can be used well.

Death Stryke
SLR owners, on a recent trip, I tried my cousin's Sigma 17-55mm lens f2.8 lens. FRICKING AWESOME lens. Images were sharp across the zoom range. Heck, that could be the one lens that will cover every use of mine except on when I need a bit more on the telephoto end. I tried landscape, portraits, indoor, the lens worked fantastic. It works really great indoors where the kit lens falls flat. And its half the price of a similar Canon. Thank God i didnt splurge much on Canon lenses. unfortunately costs 37k today (29k in Amazon US). But definitely going to be my next lens. What do u guys use as a walkabout lens? Sherry Jose
Try to take a group picture with that lens and 17mm, it would clearly show its nature. If you don't see the image going soft at the corners, then i am sure its worth the money. This is the problem with the kit lens, where it goes unconditionally soft on the edges And also the kit lens works well on other subjects, i have never had issues with it
