^^ awesome pics Sherry :good:

pretty confused in Canon EOS 550D with EF S18-135mm IS Kit & Nikon DSLR D90 with 18-105mm VR Kit Camerak

someone pls suggest

also what good focal length can be? :scratchchin:

can i opt 18-55mm? which is apparently cheap.

:ko: D90 and 500D are in the same price range? I thought the 550D was competition to the D3100?

I have the 550D with 18-135mm and it's a good combo. The camera is light and IMHO the 18-135mm is a good range and is useful for most situations. It covers a better range than the 18-55mm and I find it more useful. The lens is a little loud when focusing though.

edit: smiley fail

I put a wrong smiley in my post and edited it later, so I wrote the reason for editing being 'smiley fail' :P

How's the 1100D? :scratchchin:

canon 100mm macro USM lens- pic is unedited

this is slightly edited :fear:

[/url]

:surprise: awesome! The photos from Macro lenses look great, but I can't justify buying one for myself now. I don't think I'll use it enough

btw, how's the 100mm Macro lens? :naughty:

100 mm macro is worth buying for every dslr user, its a fantastic lens.

will upload some pics i took :good:

for good results you'll have to buy two external flashes as well :fear:

Anshul bhai,

yeah i was thinking the same

but have fear of over budget since the whole set up already costed me around 75k. :samui:

I wouldn't go near that flash for jewelry. You can't use light modifiers (umbrellas or softboxes to diffuse the light) with it, so an external flash is by far a better option.

I shot this image with a nikon sb700 flash.

hye anshul,

seeing these flashes...

Nissin Di622 MARK II (For Canon) Flash @ 8,000/-

Nissin Di866 MARK II (For Canon) Flash @ 13200/-

Canon 430EX II Flash (Black) @ 16450/-

i will go in a shop and have a look personally.

which one do u think wud suits my need?

I haven't actually used those flashes but the Di622 should be enough. The high end flashes cost more because they're easy to use, have lots of power and the recycle time is much faster. You'll also need a wireless trigger, light stand and umbrella.

Loved this pic....did you do any post processing ? the sky looks fantastic !

Thanks bro.

Did not do anything other than some level adjustment. It was taken in Ooty and Sun was bright that day which brought in clear blue skies in a Hillstation and the far end hills had some fog over it which gave that feel :)

sameuun,

sorry came on this thread after long time

here is a image of my work, you see, our purpose is similar, catching beads and tiny materials

its taken with nikon d5100 and regular kit lens, i still havent invested on any macro lenses yet,

the results are not the best for me, but still better than any digital camera

done some editing and lighting effects on picasa
