But this is a random procedural game, with no story. This setting was good for a story driven game.

 

Games like No Man's Sky etc are good for procedural generation. They don't need to have a fixed narrative.

True. Even NMS sounds really boring so far even with all it's quintillion worlds.

I was really intrigued by We happy few from the e3 demo but after reading ninja's impressions it seems like a hit or miss.

It's only the early access version that doesn't have a story. The final release will have it.

“The game's story, apart from certain moments, will not be included in the Early Access version of the game. By "the story" we mean the narrative areas, gameplay and cutscenes that make up a traditional single player story.

We will also be developing the various game modes and difficulties throughout Early Access, and may not have all options available until final release. We will also be iterating on the game with community, including a couple of major updates that will add to the design, so the features listed on this page may change.”

Beta does have gameplay though. The whole point of beta is to test the gamepaly.

It's clearly written on product page that game is unfinished and will get more content in future. Only buy it if you wish to give feedback and help us improve the product.

 

They are not charging full price for the game or hiding anything from community.

Stupid media created so much hype for this game by comparing it to Bioshock just based on art style. Devs never said that it's inspired by Bioshock nd all.

Never said it's an MS game but this game was showed (revealed) on MS Xbox E3 press conference and since it's only on PC and Xbox they owe some answers.
