spindoctor
if you are a rogue you should increase ur cunning points.if you have collector edition please watch the wardens training it will help a lot or search on youtube for that video. it gives some good tips. Abt blood spatter..no way to get rid of it .I kinda liked it how they tried to show blood when coming from combat...its not like you are always shown with blood spatter .Enjoy the game. also One major tip do buy backpacks it will help increase items to store or you will miss out on many stuffs... like me i've read that you should only increase cunning points to the level which fulfills the skill requirements and nothing more than that. presently i'm focusing on dexterity mostly, with alternating constitution and strength. bioware gave a free item to people who registered the game before 30th november... it's a dagger called 'the edge' which is pretty damn good and i want to be able to use that asap . don't have the collector's edition sadly... i wanted to buy it but no way was i going to pay 4000 bucks for it. might look for it at youtube. and yea, i know about the space issues. will be on the lookout for backpacks at every vendor. although, i bought the warden's keep dlc and i believe that alleviates all problems related to storage once i complete that quest. Persistent blood splatter can be turned off in the menu. Item set bonuses - check out dragonage.wikia.com. It might be shown in-game (not sure), but each armour set has different bonuses. Some will even give you stat increases. i'll look in the options for the game to see if i can disable it. (edit - it's right there in the options... you can uncheck the box to enable persistent gore) i got the set bonus from the wikia page you linked... turns out it's pretty mediocre, but then, this is starting gear anyway so it hardly matters. it's strange that i can't find a way to see the bonus in game though. Daedalus
Don't think it'll be anytime soon. They plan to support it via DLC for the next two years so yeah. i'd give it till 2013 at least. i doubt it'll be 2013. coz they'll try to finish mass effect on the current gen consoles, which should mean that it would come out in the 2nd half of 2012. that would leave all of 2011 and the first half of 2012 open. with the 500+ staff, i dont see them losing a year. IMO of course.

Madmage
Is that a Warden's Keep special? No it just comes in one of your random travels... You pick up some metal ( "Space ship") .. The worst part is the power went off after i picked up the special metal. I never encountered them again
spindoctor
guys..How and where to buy the Warden's Keep DLC. I also unlocked other two free DLC - blood dragon armor and stone prisoner. If I format my pc reinstall my windows and the DAO do I need to download the DLC again ?? you need to buy bioware points first at this link - http://social.bioware.com/lockbox.php?dest=checkout and then you can redeem those points to get warden's keep from within the game dlc menu. and of course you will need to redownload the dlc after a format. i'm having some issues with my game... just completed the korcari outskirts and one thing that bugged me was that my party would go into combat even if i was very far away from the darkspawn. sometimes, i couldn't even see the enemies on my screen and yet my party would be in combat. this is obviously not good because once in combat, i cannot go into stealth. another facet of this problem is when i actually do see enemies in advance and go into stealth mode... i can sneak up behind them ready to sap them (called dirty fighting in this case) but as soon as i do that, it breaks stealth and all the enemies will attack me. at this point, my party is too far away and by the time they get into combat range, my character has been the focus of enemy attacks. and if i bring my party closer, they will go into combat and my rogue is left hanging at the old positions of the enemies. so far i'm either using the rogue to cc dangerous enemies only and not really contribute to the fight, or i just rush in with all party members which seems to work but it's obviously not ideal for a rogue's fighting style. anyone have any tips on how i should manage this issue? Tyler
You can use the Tactics screen and set your party to Defensive apart from setting a whole bunch of other tactics. You can also ask them to hold ground, go into stealth mode and do a sneak attack, then call them into battle. Everything you are asking for can be done in the game. You just have to play around with the Tactics and other options. Also, during Korcari Wilds, you don't have a proper party. It's a temporary party and they are all warriors. So don't worry too much. Madmage
Did you guys know that you get a party invetory storage and a new base with WArdens keep .. I gotta buy this .. ASAP
spindoctor
You can also ask them to hold ground, go into stealth mode and do a sneak attack, then call them into battle. the root cause of my issue is the distance at which combat is initiated. like i said, half the time i would go into combat and i wouldn' even be able to stealth. now i'm obviously not going to play the entire game in stealth mode... so the distance really bothers me. as for your suggestion above... suppose i stealth in time and i keep my party in defensive stance, they will be quite some distance away after i do my sneak attack. it could get tricky for the rogue.you're right about the party though... later on, it will only be the tank that needs to get into melee range to build threat... the rest will be ranged magic attack. i love the tactics screen options but i am certainly not amused that you are so limited in tactics slots unless you invest points to get more. the tactics screen is a gameplay tool and it should not be affected by leveling up choices you make in the game. still, it's early days for me yet... right now i would love to have at least 4-5 tactics slots to deal with various situations but i'm stuck with only 2. what can you do with 2 tactics anyway ... use health potion when health below 33% and pick one of several possible attack options if you see the enemy. that's it. i want more flexibility

You can also try using the "pause game automatically" when an enemy is spotted option. That way you'll get better control over how to engage an enemy. Just give the game some time. The mechanics get some time getting used to. I'm assuming you're playing on the PC, so micromanagement is a lot easier. It's a nightmare on the console versions. kemosabe
Thanks spindoctor..I am going to buy bioware points..As I need to pay by CC or paypal - does it attract any additional charges ? if it attract any charges during the payment , I will buy points for both Warden keep n upcoming Return to Ostagar DLC, any idea how much each and total points required ?? as for the strategy while exploring keep the party on Hold position and use your character who has Survial skill so that you can see enemy before them. once you spot the enemy you can lure them to your party and kill them with your groups and repeat the same-this way you will not overwhelmed by all the enemy at a time and kill them separatly and its really fun. Each battle is different, and need a different plan. You need to use the tactics and define each of your party as per your plan.Initially you may feel less number of slot but as you progress if you put points in combat tactics then more slots will be available for that character. Bulovski
Does the character have to be in stealth to do a sneak attack? I thought the mechanic was as long as you're behind the target and get in an attack that counts as a backstab. (Standard D&D rules which also seem to apply here). Tyler
That's correct, stealth gives a bonus. But yeah for normal backstabs you just have to be in the black portion of the enemy circle.
spindoctor
and also, one of the main advantages of playing a rogue in an rpg is that you can stealth and begin combat on your terms.
