If it's only a minor bonus because of stealth in combat forget it. The game rules have worked like this for the last few iterations - stealth in combat is not worth it. Your movement speed is reduced big time.

stealth in combat will only worth if there is high probability of getting a critical hit- I mean one hit kill or massive damage+stunned

there's a subtle difference between stealth in combat (which technically isn't possible anyway) and stealth to start combat. suppose you are fighting against a group of enemies with particularly dangerous casters standing at the back, away from the others. it would be very handy to have a rogue in position to cc the caster or interrupt spells before the actual fight starts, instead having to charge head on and then do it right? in any combat scenario, having stealth to start off the fight sounds like a neat advantage to me. isn't that the point of having stealth?

all backstabs in this game are crits right? if you have stealth, you can open with a crit. or pretty much any ability you want.

in any case, i finished ostagar and reached lothering. i'd like to get the warden's keep done as soon as possible, so which direction should i head out to when i leave this village? or is there a particular level requirement for that quest or something? and one more question... i keep getting stones like malachite and fluorspar... are they useful for making gems or items or should i just sell them off?

You are right - but as soon as the stealth attack happens the battle starts and the enemies will turn to you. Your party members have to be far away. If your party members are near battle has to start - it wouldn't make sense to be able for the parties to stand around. And when battle starts everyone's senses are heightened so stealth doesn't work that well. That's why the rules were designed as they are.

you will get one in your party camp ,he will give you the mission for Warden's keep. whenever you went to explore the map ,look at the top right corner - this is the icon for your camp. After Lothering , Denerim is the best location building up stats of your characters. as for those generic stones, I also curious-come to know that later in some part of game 10 numbers of one particular items will be required .

which is why combat shouldn't start at such large distances :wink2: . you're right about it being silly for your party to be able to stand around close to enemies without engaging them too... maybe the rogue should have a threat dump or an ability like world of warcraft's vanish which allows a rogue to temporarily re-enter stealth during combat.

so i was doing a bit of reading on the bioware forum and i came across this official thread for the return to ostagar dlc which basically has bioware developers answering questions posted by the community. the questions have been removed, but the answers are interesting, and overall it's a fairly insightful look into the process behind game and dlc development.

the highlights though are... they are trying to get the pc and 360 version of the dlc out around/before christmas. ps3 version is probably delayed beyond new years. also, the price is reduced, although it's not mentioned what the new price is.

check it out here - http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/9/...241198&lf=8

i have a question for the folks who have completed the warden's keep dlc... in that thread i linked earlier, i read that the items inside the place scale with the level at which you complete the quest line. so if i do it at level 8, the armor i get will be different in stats from the one i'd get if i do it at level 15. so my question is, what level should i do it at?

Guyz help needed.

I am kind of slow n steady gamer.. It took me 42hrs to complete borderlands once. Considering that this game mite take min of 100-150hrs. So i seriuosly if i ever will get a chance to do 2nd play through of this game.

I just started charecter creation and understood the hugeness of this game. Plz help me in picking up the charecter. I want to play as a mage but Rouge also looks vry appealing. which would be give me more fun.

Can i compage mage charecter to Necro in Diablo2. :smokey:

Mage can be played a few ways - good old damage dealing where you blast / freeze / shock everything in sight; the healer variety where you heal ppl constantly and keep them from getting killed; then there's arcane warrior way which is more battlemage kinds because you can wield weapons and armour. There's shapeshifting and the slightly necro way where you use illusion spells.

Rogue - you can be archer or dual wielder from battle perspective. also you can select to be smooth talking (available for all classes because only the PC gets Coercion as skill) or lock picking or some other stuff.

Basically each character has lots of options. I will suggest play the six origin stories first with some classes and see what you're comfy with. Each origin story will take between 1 to 2 hours and you will get a couple of levels in between.

A good run through of the game is easily doable under 90 hours. So nil desperandum.
