My friend bought gears of war 4, its been 2 weeks. Still cant complete download, f**king reached 90% then got reset and started from 0%. Folder size is 113gb but progress bar shows 0%. The download is such a mess that if there is an award for worst service it should go to windows store. Thought there would be a nice gears night on sunday but no *beep* you from ms.

My friend was also not able to download the game. He really wants to play Gears 4 but that stupid won't let him download.

Gears 4 and Forza Horizon received lot of hate coz of pc version and that's why I want that store dead.

And scienced @PCGamer,

One of the new features introduced with the Windows 10 Creators Update is Game Mode, which supposedly provides a better and more consistent gaming experience by altering the allocation of hardware resources when a game is running. That may sound interesting, but in my earlier testing I found little to no benefit—and a few cases where Game Mode actually dropped performance. Of course that was with an Insider Preview build, so the public release of the Creators Update ought to be better, right?

Turns out, the simple answer is that it's not substantially different from what I saw before. In most cases, the changes are small and would go unnoticed. But that's if I'm doing my normal thing while playing games: I close any unnecessary applications sitting in the background and basically free up resources so that the game will run as well as possible. Game Mode in theory works best when you don't take such measures and simply let the OS handle the dirty work.

TL; DR Do not use it unless your PC is absolutely potato or you do not know how to close background applications.

It's similar to an app I used when I had onboard graphics. It used to close unnecessary programs and turn windows mode into basic. Then AMD also released an app called Fusion or something which did the same thing.

So, I went to the local computer market here in Dehradun, today. It wasn't much but I asked around a couple of shops and they said they could provide everything I need and assemble it too. I guess, whenever I build this PC ( which won't be before next month at the very least) I could either buy parts locally here or online depending on the price.

Comin to the build itself, after a bit of research over the last few days, I've decided to go with something that lets me play on 1440p all setting maxed out and 60+ fps. Haven't got a clue about other parts but the 1080 or the 1080ti seem right for my gfx card needs. I also read that AMD's new cards are around the corner so may influence their prices when they do release although I don't know if I am willing to wait for their release (whenever that would be).

Hey Waveking, if you are serious about this whole build PM me, please.

About graphic cards, AMD has planned to release its high-end models for ages now. Unless they are launching them within your purchase period, I see zero reason to wait for them. Another thing are you building the PC exclusively for gaming or other aspects too?

Hey Alpha, will surely PM you with specifics. Posted in this thread so that other noobs like me can also benefit :P

My usage will be primarily gaming. Occasional tv shows, movies and surfing is all I'm gonna do apart from that.

Oh! Yes, sure. My thing was more of an offer to help you with parts and if possible make a sale since I am finally getting into the SI side of things. Cheers!

Try to get a 1080p Freesync monitor instead of a 1440p non Freesync one. But if you will buy Nvidia then it doesn't matter.

Any reason why?

This looks sooo good. But it's Early Access so I'm not sure if I should get it now :(

Look at their update cycle and if they deliver. If they do keep a fairly decent tempo, pick it up.

I find most early access titles have a far better understanding of what they want to ship at the end of the day.

Thanks. I decided to pick it up.

It has 11 levels currently and I thought it was pretty VFM already for what it's priced at. Also, the combat looks delicious enough to hopefully give me multiple playthroughs.

Well, both Freesync and G-sync seem to be game-changing technologies. However, I was shocked to see the prices of the monitors having these tech in India. Even the ones which don't have free-sync/g-sync but are 1440p & 144hz seem pretty inflated on the price side. In an ideal world I'd have surely gone for a Gync compatible monitor ( going to get Nvidia card) but it seems like getting a 1440p 144hz monitor itself would be pretty hard on the wallet :/

Looks like the cheapest Gsync monitor is 31k in India.Full hd,24 inches,60hz Acer Predator.

Cheapest Freesync is AOC 24 inch,60Hz,full hd for 13.5k

I would choose Gsync or Freesync anyday over 144Hz. I'm not even sure who the hell needs 144hz outside of people who participate in esports tournaments for cash prizes.

Bro wouldn't it be backwards to play on 1080p if one's system is powerful enough to drive a 1440p resolution comfortably?

Lower resolution equates to higher fidelity and more importantly better frame-rate.

Cheapest Freesync is AOC 24 inch,60Hz,full hd for 13.5k

It is pointless to get a 60Hz FreeSync or G-Sync monitor. At-least 75Hz or 85Hz with a higher response time is what one should get.

More importantly though, these technologies are important for regular Joes as well because you don't need V-Sync which adds an input latency penalty.

I have a AOC 27 inch monitor ( i2769vm) which I bought last year and been using so far with all my consoles. Problem is if I get a pc I'd be sitting very close to the monitor and don't know if it would be ideal. I've been going down the rabbit hole of monitors recently and want to get a proper gaming montor with 144hz, 1440p gsync n all.

If you're made of money then why not?

They will cost between 60-65k.

Spending that much on a monitor is insane but its your money go ahead man!

Have a gsync 1440p 144hz monitor

Since it's gen 1 gsync, screen tearing appears sometimes(very rarely)

The new monitors should have gsync gen 2 and ips panels as well as hdmi input for consoles

If you want the best and have the horsepower. buy it else leave it
