This guy will never be happy, will he.

Well he did mention that whoever likes Souls games should definitely pick it up..which of course they will..He never liked Witcher's combat nor this plus he compared this game's combat to WoW which didn't make sense..

Oh, I love the game. Bosses underwhelming as in found DS II early bosses harder than this. Other than that, everything is better so far.

Yeah, like I said the starting bosses are easier compared to previous games. There's no Father Gascoigne or Pursuer early in the game to give you a wake up call. Also a lot of the challenge in DS3 comes from the actual levels and standard enemy placement. There are normal enemies that are far harder than bosses. There's actually an optional room later in the game that is harder than any boss fight, I kid you not.

BTW, I have been playing the game for about 3 weeks now. Did the JPN version trick on the Xbox. My first playthrough was around 40 hours with all bosses and most of the NPC quests done.

Compared the combat to WoW? Just wow...

Yeah! I just started playing original Dark Souls and I am having an epiphany of sorts right now and a great itch to tell the people who are ranting about The Witcher 3 combat.

But yeah, this guy. This WAB guy takes the cake.

I haven't really watched / read what he said but I can guess what he was trying to say. Dark Souls III has action queuing that can be quite noticeable at times. It could lead to your character doing stuff that you wanted to cancel because the commands are queued. There have been a couple of instances where I sat there chugging an estus when I really wanted to roll away as a boss did a split second attack I did not anticipate. That happened because my estus action took precedence over the roll. It's not so bad that it's game breaking and only really happens when you frantically start mashing buttons (which you probably shouldn't to begin with).

If that is what he's talking about then I can understand. Still, it's a massive hyperbole.

No, his complaint is the combat is too samey. Dodge, roll, hit, dodge, roll, hit.

Ironically, this is what I did in The Witcher 3 as well and some people had issues with it.

For those who have played BB and are currently playing this, how Bloodborne-y the game feels? Is the influence heavy or is it as diverse as DS2?

As someone who absolutely loves both games let me answer :D

The game is definitely very Bloodborney in places...

- Combat is faster, enemies are more aggressive and come in large numbers.

- The visual design is very reminiscent of Bloodborne in many places. There's an entire area that could very well be from Bloodborne.

- A lot of the enemy design is Bloodborney. Some creatures are absolutely vile and disgusting and wouldn't be out of place in BB. I really wish Miyazaki and Co. do a proper survival horror game at some point.

- Some of the gear looks a lot like BB.

- Enemies now bleed profusely... however your character doesn't get drenched in blood like BB, instead he or she ends up with a hilarious looking blackened face.

- There are rings and weapon arts that allow you to regain HP after successive hits. This doesn't work as well as BB's regain mechanic unfortunately.

That said the game really is a mash up of ALL previous Souls games. It's like a greatest hits album.

Now I have a weird urge to play all the Souls titles with pop numbers from the 80's, Eye of The Tiger and Danger Zone especially.

There's a boss fight that could go nicely with a certain song by Spin Doctors.

Anyone getting steady 60 fps with Radeon cards? If so, which driver version are you using?

Some people in reddit are getting constant 55-60 fps with the same config as mine, whereas I get around 20 - 60. Gets worse in co-op

Well, the more I play, the more I love it. The game shites over all RPG games I have played, and that's LOT. Uz7qSgl.gif

The music, setting, locations, designs, exploration, difficulty, combat. Everything is perfect. The boss presentation, my god. MFhy370.png The Abyss watcher 2nd phase is just wow.

By the way, very torn between Farron Greatsword and Wolf Knight's Greatsword. Farron GS has some crazy-crazy move set and animation, but I feel like I won't be able to use it for some time (DEX low and build is not around it); while Wolf Knight's GS doesn't have crazy move set like Farron, but can use it. I've got a dumb question. Suppose I infuse the longsword with the firegem, does it start flaming or only inflict fire damage apart from the physical damage. Am pretty new to the series so bear with me.

Yes, you need to re-inforce. Also, don't forget to allot Estus after.

 Nothing on this planet like souls. Also you are in for a treat in later areas if you played the first game.

Really enjoying the game so far. I am liking the combat so much better than DS2. I have realised that As a mele character having a bow is very important makes the game so much easier with those hard to reach enemies.

I am in the bloodborne village right now and I am having a very difficult time with the giant which smashes a big pot on you. His back is shielded and I can't backstab him. Normal attacks does very little damage. Plus his poise is very hight that I can't even interrupted him in his attack. Plus he has this 4 smash attack which if connects kills me instantly. And lastly he is very aggressive that I can't even snipe him from far away. What should I do against him, really stuck.

from the gameplay videos i saw, you cant trade with him as he wont get staggered and will hit you even when you are down on the ground. Try dodging his first attack and he will continue to hit you, use this window to get a hit or two from his back.

Those pot guys actually throw their pot targeting you if you annoying them for a while. After that it's just chop-chop guy. Dodge and strike. Becomes easy once he's done with his pot.

But yeah, once you get under his pot, you are smashed to death. Q1bYFgA.gif
