Big Boss
Maybe we got used to it. I died a lot in Bloodborne. Then I got better. After that I played DS2 for 1-2 hours, and found it comparatively easy. The bow and shield makes the game much easier. Also the use of walkthroughs. Aloy
Well, for most people their first Souls experience is the toughest. Your experience and skills are pretty much transferable between different Souls games. Although, DeS tortured me with its brutal difficulty and even after so many years I don't think I'll have an easy time with it if I try it once more. Maybe we got used to it. Aftrunner
Yeah I found DeS to be the hardest too. Mostly it was the lack of bonfires. Dark Souls 3 isnt a tough game if you do a few things right in the start though. When it does get tough though, it feels cheap tough rather than genuine tough. Last few area enemies and bosses do a ridiculous amount of damage (NG+ levels of damage when compared to previous Souls games) and a lot of regular enemies dont really obey the same rules of Stamina and Poise that you do. There is the series staple of shitty hitboxes and I have genuinely lost count of the times when enemies and bosses can hit you straight through the wall. Even with all that, its the easiest of the 3 Dark Souls games. Unless you are doing magic, Pyro or Miracles. Then its a total pain in the dick because again the game is super duper heavily biased in favor of melee builds. Almost to the point where it makes all magic options obsolete. ALPHA17
^ Unmodded yes, stuck to Windowed 720p but after DSFix and a couple MOD's, it looks less janky although still pretty terrible. Also, controller is a must.

DS1 did a lot better at hitting through the wall (dunno abt DS2), dunno how they programmed DS3's hitting. Also, controller is a must. No, Controller is optional. Either this or I n many others like me must be bad at this game just because of KBM. Controller doesnt make you pro or die less.
Abdulah
What is the difference between Attunement , Faith and Intelligence attribute ? Also for Mercenary class , i look to be good in pyromancy . What is the best way to become a decent pyromancer for long range attack and still rely on dual weapon for short range .
Heaven Angel
Mercenary is dexterity expert, allowing you to wield dual swords. Sure you can use long range very effectively with Mercenary. Get +2 in Faith early. It'll allow you to cast basic miracles as well boost your pyromancy. Attunement - number of spells you can carry. Soft cap is 35. 0 Attunement Slots below 10 Attunement.10 gives you 1 Slot14 gives you 2 Slots18 gives you 3 Slots24 gives you 4 Slots30 gives you 5 Slots40 gives you 6 Slots50 gives you 7 Slots60 gives you 8 Slots80 gives you 9 Slots99 gives you 10 Slots Intelligence - Attribute required to cast sorceries and pyromancies Faith - Attribute required to cast miracles and pyromancies. Pyromancy effectiveness is governed by Faith and Intelligence. You can become anything you want later in the game.
Aftrunner
I genuinely wouldnt recommend spreading points into Pyro or magic if this is your first Souls game. Your stat points will end up being spread out a LOT and it will make the game a way waaaaaay harder. Wait for a second playthrough to roll with Pyromancy or Sorcery. For example to get into Pyromancy you will need to start putting points into Faith, Intelligence, Attunement and then split your Estus into healing OR replenishing your Mana. Its a lot to juggle for new players. Edited April 28, 2016 by Aftrunner

Haven't got a cool dual sword/bow like the Screenshot from previous page yet . I am currently in Undead Settlement . I am currently focusing on HP , Stamina and Dexterity . But Dextrity attribute is waste for now since i am using the same weapon from past 6 hour . Have upgraded it +2 though . Aftrunner
Hmmmmm you are still probably better off with a long bow for ranged stuff and kiting enemies. Pyro is bit of a commitment IMO. You will have to level up 3 stats to about 20 to get any solid use out of it. Then lose about 2-3 Health Estus' so you can refill your mana if you run out. And lose a Ring slot to boost Pyro attack. If you havent invested too much into DEX or STR you can probably branch off. Make whatever weapon your are using RAW or Elemental so you arent dependant on STR or DEX scaling for damage. Then its sort of worth it. But otherwise you are spreading yourself pretty thin.

Jerush
I've played all Souls games with sorcery/ pyro / faith builds. This is the first game I'm regretting going for a pyro build. Magic is basically the tough mode here. At approx 25 faith and int, and still my raw astora sword does more dmg than any spell Edited April 29, 2016 by Jerush
PhantomShade
How Dark Souls 3 builds up its most villainous slime lord the author forgot to mention the slime enemies that drop from the ceiling EVERYWHERE Aldrich is probably the most intresting boss lore wise

Its bad enough that you have to invest into multiple stats to see a return on your investment. Its worse that the return (of damage) you get out of investing in multiple stats is so poor. And then just as a kick in the nuts, you need to take away from your healing Estus to even use Magic. This is why you almost never see anyone using Sorcery/Miracles when you invade or co op. Rarely you might get someone using pyro but thats about it. PvP is f**ked anyway so it doesnt matter I guess.
i_rock098
Is magic that bad in this game? Traditional Magic is easy mode in Souls game, casul Also completed the game. Feeling so badass [emoji41] though the final boss was underwhelming. I liked him in 3rd try itself. Compared to him the twin prince and nameless king were brutally tough. Nr.Draca47
This bad sorcery is:- Crystal Magic weapon spell has a requirement of 30 Int, gives a 3.2% boost over Great Magic Weapon which has a requirement of 15 Int. You pump in 15 points just to get a 3.2% boost
