So once in the franchise, the Outsider might have more to offer than just, I have been tracking you and spewing gibberish.

By the way, standalone expansion? Expansion? DLC? What is this thing?

Stand alone expansion

As a loyal fan of Dishonored 1 i waited for a long time to play this game, kept my eye on patch notes and waited till one day my patience and trust in the fact that they could fix the issues plaguing the game finally paid off.

There are few things that this game deserve our praise like combat and the expanded core mechanics, level design and better AI with different powers to play with. Also the graphics are better :duh: atleast in my opinion. I'm getting a very stable locked 60 fps with every settings cranked up ultra.

Game and story is good so far, on chapter 3 now.

Picked this up in the Steam sale. It runs like sh*t in open areas but goddamn the level design is goddamn genius. So far its actually better than the first one and I genuinely think the first one was one of the best games of last gen.

Lock that bitch to 30.. Unlocked frame-rate will affect gameplay..

I dont even know if I get 30 steady in open areas. :P

It stutters an awful lot. I just dropped down the graphics settings, which makes it way better. I bought this with a friend (sharing) and it runs like sh*t on his rig as well which is better than mine. So technically its not a great port. There are far better looking games that run at much higher settings than this.

Dat gameplay tho.

Edit If anyone else played and loved Dishonored 1 and is starting this, I cannot recommend playing as Emily enough. She gets all the cool new powers.

Yup. Definitely better than the first one.

Not getting steady 30 fps in open areas? The major performance problems in this game are fixed now and it's runs quite better. I'm getting strong 60 fps throughout and I'm on max setting. Compared to dishonored 1 this semi-open world setting looks pleasant and plays good. I would've got this game earlier when I asked you for your review when you were playing the demo version.

^^What GPU are you running it on?

I dunno, on my 960 I get very variable frame rate. On my friends 970 its better but he can run other games on higher settings with much better results.

Gtx 1080 with i7 :P

Your 960 is struggling coz of low Vram. They patched frame rate issues on consoles and PC after launch. Runs locked 30 on consoles now.

LOL are you seriously on a 1080 and think this is a good port? :P

I just shared my opinion :(, perhaps it's not as good but I think it's not unplayable at this point. Lowering your settings further might help as you won't notice a thing just like on consoles.

Here:

Comparison

The only major change you see is water effects and reflections. This comparison was done very early when game was released so yes FPS issues.

Hardly matters when you run a high-end card. If the game cannot work fine (mid settings at 50+fps) on mid tier cards, it's not really well optimised.

However, the game state was worse at launch than compared now. Still not perfect but playable. XFduBHA.png

This game is really good, an improvement on every aspect of the first game. Mission 4 the Clockwork Mansion has some of the best level design. Game reward you so elegantly for exploring the environment. There is no filler. Each apartment room has something in it, every note you find leads you to opening a locked safe, or finding a key, or a shortcut in your story progression. It is just mind boggling how so much of the environment is DESIGNED with purpose. Seems like they handcrafted each and every level.

Currently I'm on mission 7 and on high chaos. Next will be low chaos and no powers run after that. :batman:
