ReCore

Gamesradar 7/10

Somewhere in ReCore is a good game. Joule and her companions are instantly likable. Far Eden's tale is an intriguing one. Thanks to her agility and rocket boots, Joule is a satisfying character to control. The game's core (apologies for using a pun I'd avoided this whole review) is solid. It's just too bad that the frame supporting it isn't.

PCWorld 2.5/5 stars

As I said, the most disappointing part of ReCore is that it starts so strong. I havent spent nearly enough time on what ReCore gets right, so numerous and egregious are its failings. But your robot companions? Adorable. The platforming? Extremely responsive, and as entertaining as anything in Tomb Raider or Uncharted. But ReCore is a chore. A needless chore, with gates so artificial it ruins whats otherwise a lovingly crafted universe. Go here, fetch a random collectiblethats not enough nowadays, and especially not when the game doesnt even bother to dress it up with a hint of motive. Couple that with the lengthy load times and the overall lack of polish, and Im going to have to recommend avoiding

Looks like open world design of the game made it boring and repetitive, plus load times are also bit long.

You cant just update the store. Its a complete PC update.

You can get it here -

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12387/windows-10-update-history

Be aware

1) Its a pretty chunky download. 4GB I think or something like that.

2) Takes a while.

3) (this happened to me) could brick your PC. :P

Caveat emptor.

Yeah I wouldnt do it either. At least not again. LOL.

At first it wouldnt update. Then when it finally did, PC BSOD'd almost every time I used it. Such a goddamn mess. There is nothing to gain ATM, unless you are desperate to pay stupid money for overpriced Windows store games. Give it a couple of months till they iron things out.

FWIW though, I have done it on 3 PCs. Home HTPC went smoothly, work PC went smoothly, Gaming PC just became a mess. 1/3 still aint great odds.

Mine downloaded update automatically, but update failed. Not doing manual update. There is HUGE post on Reddit since it's launch, and MS hasn't even acknowledged the issue. Few members on our forums are already facing issues.

As you said, there is nothing to gain apart from overpriced store games. I hope other publishers never make it mandatory (don't think they will)

No one will. Most non windows store publishers dont even need Win 10.

I switched back to win 7 as I don't have graphics card inside my PC :P

Will install Windows 10 again once I get new graphics card.

Where? I Can't find them? .

If you aren't even on Windows 10, then where were you searching for recore and other xbox games?

those reviews  con man strikes again.

bubububu.... from the makers of Mighty no 9 and metroid prime and federation force

More like that :P

But jokes aside , I actually want to try it out after reading Gamespot's review and it seems like an old school title but just that it isnt too great.

"ReCore's missteps are a real shame, because it can be quite charming otherwise. It has the heart of a PS2 or Gamecube-era platformer, with its floating lifebars, bright laser beams that fill the screen like a Dreamcast shoot-'em-up, and glowing gems that bounce around. Amongst all the slick, modern day video game productions, it stands out as an endearing throwback."

ffs why cant anyone make a good Megaman game :( , maybe thats why Capcom killed the ip. I sorta believe them now when they said they cancelled Megaman Legends 3 because it didnt meet quality standards.
