South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Just finished the game and holy sh*t what a stupid ending. The whole game was fine until the last 2 missions, then it went full on crazy (not in a good way). Almost ruined the whole experience.

Now that it's over, in retrospect, I now feel Stick of Truth was way too superior to this game by far. I mean everything from the gameplay, the humour, the exploration, side activities etc were great. A lot of the RPG elements were taken out and dumb'd down here. The gear and loot were now just restricted to artifacts and DNA mods, while in the previous game, it was great to combine all your gear including your clothes to weapons. This game had none of that.

The storyline started out quite well and then it felt like a complete drag fest and unnecessary forced humour. The first game, in this respect, felt fresh and was dam fun. I mean the whole Canadian level was so innovative and fun to play around. Not to mention the core medieval story and characters blending in perfectly.

TFBW felt like an ambitious project which tried to add so many pop culture references, it just lost sight on what it wanted to accomplish by the end. Felt like the writers just gave up towards the end, which might explain the ludicrous final mission.

My suggestion, for those yet to purchase it, save your money till a good sale comes along. It's definitely not worth the full price. The game is about 24 hours long, with no NG+ and next to none post game content.

The first game pretty much took same amount hours and didn't have NG+ either but it was still worth playing again even without subtle changes. Here you can start again with different character skin colour and explore.

I know it's not much, but it's South Park. As for the ending, well, even the first game-ending was a bit over the top.

Good sequel nonetheless.

Anyways, some goodies for PS4 user: QEA9-MCNF-9R2K

The first game went through a rather shaky development/publishing cycle and Obsidian still managed to pull it off. For this game, Ubisoft had all the time and financial support, but something just didn't feel right here. The quality which the first game sported was pretty high and had a lot of memorable moments.

This game isn't bad at all, but you'll instantly notice that something is a bit off, especially in terms of it's humour. This one went over-the-top with the toilet humour, which I have never enjoyed. It's fine in small doses, but not constantly being shoved in your face.

I hope the DLCs would add more content and potentially allow Canadian side exploration. :)

BTW, what's that code for? It says not supported for this region (US).
