For Honor

If this game has a 10+ hours campaign, then it is an easy pick on PC for me. MP will easily give you 50-100 hours plus a decent campaign is a win win situation just like doom , etc, games. It is not a hack and slash game. Try to see your opponent's stand and then attack. Heroes who can block almost all your attacks are vulnerable to push attacks....keep that in mind. Same goes for every other hero. If you time your counter/block, you'll have a good time to go for a heavy against your opponent as he gets stunned/shocked for few secs.

@hope

Yes you do get new items and weapon upgrades as you level up.

Exactly my thoughts, game is decent and it's not for everyone. I hope they put a good campaign and better servers this time as it seems they're getting some big issues with severs. Having maintenance every 2/3 hours, patch updates, connection issues. There are only 70 weapons and armor for a single hero? I expected more.

Anyway matches are really fun and tense, definitely not a mad hack and slash game. We're talking about something new here. I might pick it up but only when they'll fix their servers.

@ kaka Dude what's your Uplay ID?

^^Agree

The combat is similar to DS, and an extra tri-directional attack/defense mechanic. However, to enable the above mechanic one needs to be locked on, which breaks immersion and fluidity. (for some) (remember DS1's facestab :D )

The direction in which this game is going is very similar yet new. Its a Mount & Blade type game with more focus on Melee combat.

Its another TF2 game with swords in place of guns. You get weapon upgrades and skills. While Overwatch, Paladins and dota heavily emphasize on hero skills and items, For honor relies on swordplay (like TF2 or CS). Its a new touch with pvp swordplay however its something that should have been in the market long ago.

In the long run (in its current state, with limited disclosure of skills and items), it will die faster than DS's pvp. However, if it gives a vast array of skills And items then.... the game will have players but not active ones. BF1 has set the bar high but at a price, it wont take long before AA titles make a huge arena with multiple elements into the mix and competitively priced.

DS has coop, invasion, environment, multiple builds, roleplay, imitated NPC gangs, un/fair duels, erratic N/PC's, addictive secrets and more. If For honor's campaign holds half of the above then maybe there is a chance it will last.

For honor looks weak when compared to other dominating Capture the flag type games. I think or atm its an incomplete game, i would prefer dipping 2.4k in Overwatch (+ free dlc) than 2.5k for for honor (including season pass). Also, Conan exiles is coming in 3 days, theoretically it looks more appealing to me.

PS: Hvnt played with real humans yet, some broken files prevented me. Will try it now when i reach home.

Visuals aside, I just don't see any value in the game.

Its a Mount & Blade type game with more focus on Melee combat.

You mean unlike Chivalry or Mount and Blade, this relies on visual/UI cues and signals instead of environmental awareness. The mouse movement/blocking is so bad. It's laughable. Those things are good for...dance games.

The domination(?) mode has retarded AI who looks tiny for some reason and just horde. No reason to play 1v1 when you can play better games.

Can be fun for few hours. Little more with friends. But anything above that, you must be punishing yourself. 100 hours? PliUYrN.gif RIGHT!

Also, $60 is so expensive for such games with no real value. $40 season pass. $99 pack and it'll die in less than 90 days.

It cost 1799 rs. I've already played beta for some hours now. I played star wars (full game) for 8 hours or something. :lol: It ain't for everyone and will get frustrating for hack and slash guys. I agree mp beta lacks depth and that's why it needs a solid sp but then again it depends on individuals. I've played coh2 for 2000 hours now...I am sure people here haven't played it for more than 50 hours because it is always allies vs axis mode. :lol: If honor has a campaign of 10+ hours, then I'm fine otherwise I'll wait for some sale. Just like doom, other games, with okayish mp but decent sp.

@heaven it is nomad.

The game solely relies of swordplay. Theoretically it should die as soon as it is launched. The game is barron, no extras or anything; its simply a game where you slash ppl and capture/defend a point. And if one says about heroes then 1. Ubisoft always has server issues (frnd/ivgian told me), and 2. Difficult heroes need good pings to be really effective

Its 2017 guys, we have powerful GPUs and CPUs and what we get is boring, lame and last-gen game. Boo ubisoft, i hope Funcom will do the job better

Yes the beta seems to lack in depth but if they'll try and improve even further like add more maps and mods, better inventory and rewards, proper servers and matchmaking and ofcourse good campaign, this might get a good sale. I like when devs try to do something different than just giving a boring shooter all the time.

Slim chance honor will have any value even if they add the above things. As i said, it will have players but not active ones, whats the point of an MP game with no active playerbase??

Its new but barron, hardly any gameplay elements to keep novel users engaged

I do not know how they managed to screw up the control scheme, it is probably the worst aspect of the game.

The combat is decent, the mechanics make sense, the control scheme is completely biased towards controller usage though and even there the mapping is absurd for something like the XBox controller. This thing does not hold a candle to Darks Souls PvP combat even if that is a laggy, janky, absolute crapshoot of a game on a poor connection.

Wow this actually looked interesting but the MP-focus had already killed my enthusiasm and now I hear they have even screwed up the combat which was supposed to be the main draw. Also I'm expecting the SP portion to be matches with bots with some cutscenes thrown in.
