That isn't the case with this particular review though. Most of the praise was for the setting and gameplay. Not the character - which gets 3 lines at the beginning and a 4 line paragraph. That's it. Panda's literacy levels make Trump seem like Einstein :P

A point of contention though, if it wasn't Engadget and was a specialist games website instead, I'd laugh at the entire review because the reviewer didn't play Witcher, Skyrim, or DA.

The story in this game looks generic as f**k with laughably bad voice acting. More than enough to disqualify any journalist who says he/she fell in love with RPGs after playing this game.

As for gameplay, it looks better than most of the RPG genre games which is the only thing that makes this game interesting.

BTW, you got your copy?

But being a gamer and a reporter who haven't played any RPG or disliked the genre where people on the other side were praising how good the game was and even critics agreed to it. Then people shouldn't take an opinion from someone like that and wait for reviews from who actually understands what RPG means.

Exactly! If it was some random casual gamer like me, not a big deal at all. But she's a freaking reporter!

Even if she's a journalist, she'll have her preferences. Look at it this way: if she didn't like RPG genre so far, and this game made her love it, then, wouldn't you consider this game to be quite good ?

If she has her preferences then so do we, It's not because she's a women, but being a newbie her perspective towards an RPG element is limited and therefore a person who is familiar with the genre would take it differently as she did.

Nothing against that reviewer/reporter but no can deny the fact that feminists and SJW are ruining gaming and gaming journalism. All those sad bf1 review vids...feminists got triggered because there are no females......unka reaction dekh kar pata tha mujhe ki naas hone wala hai duniya ka.

First Test Review with a Score - 9/10 [LINK]

WE LOVE

  • A masterful artistic direction.
  • A mysterious and captivating story.
  • Aloy, elegant, strong and human.
  • A sense of magic travel.
  • Realization and level design breathtaking.
  • Constant discoveries.
  • Superb on PS4, lavish on PS4 Pro.
WE DO NOT LIKE
  • A final less percussive than the rest.
  • Fights sometimes very (too) mercilessly.
  • Some (few) AI inconsistencies.
