Level 41 with ancient armor and all weapons maxed with highest level mods, and got fked by very first enemy and died horribly

Back to setting up traps and tripwires I guess.

Similar fate as mine. Started off as Level 42 with good enough weapons and stuff, and the first Scorcher got me a couple of times.

About the DLC: Everything's good and all but the only thing is that somehow I just don't feel a lot of connect with the story. In the base game, most of the things you do (reading text/audio datapoints, talking to people, exploring ruins, etc.) are all part of the overall story that I cared about. Hence, I was more interested in doing those. In the DLC, the overall story that's being revealed seems a little meh, in comparison. And this is after I killed the second new type of machine and explored 2 ancient ruins. But, since it's a DLC, I guess I'm gonna have to live with that.

The final part of the quest where Aloy challenges Aratak for being the chieftain is so cool. 3 Frostclaws at the same time. Took a few tries but it felt so good to finally beat them. This is with the Ancient Armor, BTW.

Completed that part and now heading towards the east of the map which is grayed-out despite overriding the Tallneck to reveal the map.

I think this DLC is more of the core Horizon game that I loved all those months ago. Except for how the overall story pans out. The main game just had that sense of, "What's gonna happen now? Let's play some more and find out." Which made it difficult to put down. The DLC is more like, "Well, okay."

Totally loving the challenging aspect of the DLC.

I think I'm at the final few parts of the main missions of the DLC and it requires you to be at Level 50. I'm currently at 48.

I haven't tried the DLC yet but this is what I liked about the original game. Normally in open world games I only go to main story quests once I get bored of doing side stuff (or I've done everything available) but this game did a great job of making the story missions interesting from a story perspective. I came out quite impressed by the storytelling.
