Aftrunner
^But Sega name is not on Kickstarter page? Because putting Sony, Sega etc names there might make suckers realize they are pledging to advertise a game.

Heaven Angel
Let's see if this can beat Star Citizen kickstarter of $ 90m Technically they raised $2.5 million through Kickstarter. Rest were from direct crowdfunding. Crazy. Estimated delivery: Nov 2014...It's 2015 and still no sign of anything. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night raised $5+ million. Torment: Tides of Numenera raised $4+ million. Pillars of Eternity raised $4 million. With 30 more days left, I thin this is going to reach new milestone. IshmaelIsBack
Nobody owns it. It is one of the rare cases where IP owner lost it because they never bothered to renew it. But Yu Suzuki said he can obtain the license from Sega if there's enough public interest, which is the purpose of this kickstarter. SEGA owns it. Renewed right after GDC or somewhere during that time when the American registration slipped over.

KnackChap
Sega must be looking at those numbers and called a emergency meeting to ship shenmue 1 and 2 HD ASAP.
Shadoken
How the hell is this a kickstarter? Especially with all the gigantic corporations involved. That too with a goal of 2 million? You can't do a AAA trailer with that money. Like the tweet said above, this is just free money and a hype check. People who pledged need to have their head examined. Can't wait for CoD Advanced warfare 2 kick starter. Let's see the conversation with the investors went something like this. "hey guys I wanna make a sequel to a 14 year old financially bad dreamcast game . Please fund ok ? " Yeah probably not too well. It's quite obvious this is a hype check if the vocal shenmue community would put money where their mouth is . And it's hardly a bad deal , 30$ for a digital copy ? Yea what a rip off. I think it's the people who buy the same crap game year after year are the ones who need to get their heads examined . Not the people wanting a sequel to a truly unique and revolutionary game.
