Looks like it was some issue on PC with controller... Read few posts on gaf and reddit where players were complaining about controller issue which made handling really bad and some even said that game was not detecting controller analog sticks for some reason.

Bomba written all over it. By the time this releases, GT Sport and others will be out. Asseto Corsa is also released now.

The first did well coz there were no racing games in the market. Now there is plenty. Don't think anyone will buy this over GT, Forza and Corsa.

Project CARS 2 Developer Will Not Hold Back Potential Xbox Scorpio Enhancements Because of PS4 PRO

“We may go higher resolution on Scorpio compared to Pro, or we may keep lower res but increase detail. Again, too early to say, and if we can do something extra on Scorpio easily we will do, we won’t hold it back due to Pro,” he said. The game adopts an improved version of the Madness engine which is scaleable across modern hardware so it’s great to see that the game could potentially utilize the full power of Scorpio, provided the development team decides to do so.

^ why did they need a kickstarter though? Didn't they already release a successful game?

Because WMD members share in the profits of Project CARS. The original backers get 110%.

The end result is that the payments which will be made on or around 28 August will be at a rate of 110% of the amounts originally contributed, i.e. that means you are making a 10% profit immediately, as we are paying you before we actually receive all of the funds from Bandai Namco. There will of course be further payments in later quarters. We fully expect the profits to be substantial for everyone as we’ll be paying them for years!

Basically, had you put $110 into Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios is essentially taking you to McDonald’s once every few months, as well as giving you the finished game for free.

This might sound nice paper, but it is not unless you have invested big amount. I believe they are using the same formula for funding Project CARS 2.

Yep. Hence it does not really profit you if you invest a small amount.

As for going the traditional route, they won't risk doing it. Sim racing is very niche and they haven't established themselves yet. Investing a big amount without publisher can hurt them really bad if the game doesn't sell enough. However, by crowd funding, they don't lose much.

Joe has explained it pretty well :)

First one was good and they shared some money with all backers. I have invested more in this one but who knows how this is going to turn out.
