You don't need any 3rd party apps anymore. Steam now supports DS4 and I use it daily.

Go to settings -> controller -> general controller settings option

Plug in your DS4 -> it will appear below -> select and calibrate. Thought it will automatically. Once done, close and reconnect your controller. You will see notification setting PlayStation 4 controller using config.

Desktop configuration controller -> load the high rated config form community or search.

This is one time setup. Once done, you are good to go.

Never mind I got it to work. I was initially using an older variant of the DS4Windows, the Jays2Kings version which was throwing up errors while activating the 'Hide DS4 Controller' option. I downloaded the newer and updated DS4Windows Ryochan7 version and through that 'Hide DS4 Controller' option works like a charm.

I'm able to now see all the button prompts correctly being displayed in the game settings.

Got all the 89 Junction Boxes done at last.

Can someone please shed more light on the entire Racket Earning concept in the game. There are 2 types I see on the map:

30000/ 50000 under some Rackets

Kickback 6500 under Cassandra's name

Do I have to head to the Rackets and collect the money? Also, what happens when the earning reaches 50000/50000 on the map under a certain racket? Do I have to head there and collect the money or is that only indicating that the particular racket is earning to it's maximum capacity ($50000 in this case)?

It's been a really long time since I completed the game, but if memory serves, you need to manually need to head out to Cassandra and collect it from her. However, later on in the game, you'll get a perk (from Vito) which will make it significantly easier to collect the kickback money without having to physically visit that location.

Yes, I went into the house Cassandra is located at and the money was right there on the table in front of where she sits, ready to be collected.

A couple of things I don't like about this game:

- The entire Witness aspect to carjacking. It's very annoying when you jack a car and a pedestrian runs to a phone booth nearby to inform the cops. I sometimes run after them and KO them or I simple drive away from the blue circle area.

- The side missions with rackets aren't very interesting. They are mostly go there, shoot some bad guys and interrogate a guy (which is also is a scripted event) and done. Also, those missions you get from Alma for example sometimes show up on the map but the trucks or boats that need to spawn aren't there because her racket is earning to the max and the mission is not needed to be done. One can easily argue that is the mission isn't needed to be done then why does it even pop up on the map, at all?!

- Eventually a perk will be unlocked, which will let you just make a call for "doorstep money collection". Super useful.

- Gameplay is insanely repetitive. You will be doing the exact same thing till the end.

- Several glitches like the one you have found, which they never fixed.

Just spotted this while doing one of the missions:

Separate sections based on skin color. Damn. :(

This kind of stuff, along with the storyline, was the highlight of the game for me.

You just need to gain the perk from Burke that will make it much easier for all your car problems. The initial phase of the game is woefully slow, especially if you aim to complete everything in the game. I know it took me quite a while to clean out the entire collectibles on the map.

I agree with the side missions aspect. They should have really made some meaningful quests instead of the repetitive area capturing charade that it makes you go through. Thankfully, the DLCs aren't structured this way and they are much more straightforward.

Doing those Junction Boxes (all 89 of them) took me quite a while not to mention collecting the Fuses as well. Each box takes 3 fuses to unlock so it does take some hunting around.

@quixote_1989: I love some of the circa 60's songs on the Radio stations as well. Some of those are definitely known to me. :walkman:

Found another bug today. The point where you destroy all the barges holding the cans of garbage and then have to come back to Maria Bava to continue on with the game... I returned to her and when I pressed 'X' to initiate the conversation with her, the conversation would not get triggered! I went out of her house and re-entered but then the sodding prompt to hit 'X' would not pop up when I was near her.

The only way was to exit the game and head back to her place to try it and that's when it worked finally.

I reinstalled this game to play the game in HDR. Still sh*t. The game feels like a massive chore.

Oh yes, undoubtedly. Every district, every god damn map segment will serve you with the same type of missions. I do not understand what the devs were thinking to do such a repeat & rinse job. Did they even think?! :wallbash:

It's like after designing one batch of racket takedown missions they were fed with some memory loop pill so the next day they designed the same thing again!

The side missions also are so hackneyed. Steal truck, steal boat, deliver truck... nothing else. And sometimes while delivering the trucks you get attacked by exactly 2 cars filled with Marcano's baddies who you must eliminate. If the cops get involved, you must lose them too before taking the truck to the destination.

The only good missions are the straight to the task, assassinations that you get from Donovan.

This is game has suckered me in with red herrings of future improvement and now I'm so deep into it that I can't quit! I'll finish it and then burn the copy. Never again.

And the gun fights itself are lame. You take cover, shoot a few bullets and the AI will shoot back. Stop shooting and they will be like "where is he" and come to investigate one by one, then you can take them out using stealth attack. If you go all rambo, you will die in few bullets. Also the ammo is kinda scarce like a survival horror game. And this game has the pathetic bullshit mechanic of locking weapon slots behind skill upgrades or whatever, same like Far Cry 5. This trend needs to die.

Just completed the mission where you have to get on the ferry and eliminate Lou Marcano. Loved the mission and it was a welcome break from the hackneyed stuff which the game spits out at you 80% of the time.

The main missions are fairly okay.

Completed the main game. The last few missions, right up to getting to Marcano in his Casino are nicely done. That long drive to get to the Casino with "Hold On, I'm Comin" by Sam & Dave playing in the car... very right vibes!

This game could have been so amazing and had such great potential but gets weighed down due to some piss poor mission designing for most part by lazy developers. Sad.

My end game decision:

Mafia3-Definitive-Edition-2020-06-15-21-

I decided to stay and "Rule Together" Become King! :gunsmilie:
