Are the load times in Dead Space comparitively less than when it is loading from disc???

Dunno. I havent installed Dead Space to the HDD yet, but with Gears2 there's a superb improvement in level load times and texture pop-in artifacts.

I guess M$ finally learns from sony for having HDD on every PS3 and leaving it upto the devs to decide on the HDD install or not.

Not just learned, they have improved on it. The devs dont get to decide on the HDD installation. Each and every game ever released for the X360 can be installed on the HDD.

If you say so...a welcome development...Kudos to MS for this...

I also hope game slowdowns and framerate drops will also be negligible thanks to the installation......

Installation doesn't help in framerate improvement or make games look better/sharper. It'll help reduce texture pop-ins in games which constantly stream texture data off disk like UE3 games and open world games like GTA4 and Fable 2. No more popped up trees in GTA 4 :D

@Castiel: Registerations were open for NXE for a limited while. You were supposed to get for an invitation IF selected. Read more here.

Most of the people here have got it by applying for the NXE. MT and IMBender are MVPs, so they got NXE by default while Sam was..........:P
