Power woes down south!

I actually used to enjoy the power cuts up north when I was living there as a kid. A powercut in the evening would mean an hour of goofing around with friends and playing. We used to live in a colony in Saharanpur, so it wouldn't take long before all the kids in the colony would have assembled in the playground, only moments after the power went out.

Bangalore power situation has become horrible. When I go down there I prefer to stay most of the time in office rather than in the guest house. And my cuz says the weekends are worse - stretches of blackouts.

its a shame when cities like bangalore and mumbai have powercuts....how are u gonna convince multinationals to set up base here when there isnt even a steady power supply...its even worse too see this in a city that is dubbed the IT capital

peace

sldnt be like that. Frm Sardar Sarovar ( Narmada ) project, most of the eletricity is going to Maharastra...Gujarat is Hardly getting any thing. Yet its soo isnt good.

Ndeal is MUST.

Ah ! Sucks so bad for you guys down South :( We here in the north in South Delhi are experiencing the opposite :)

Really! Gurgaon and Noida have it real bad. Power in Gurgaon goes about 6-8 times a day for a few minutes. I have stopped counting nowadays how long it goes for - thank God for power backups.

all bangaloreans get ready for another 2 months power blackouts in the city.....its gonna be even worse in August....there is likely to be a 5-7 hrs power cut every day...

as soon as this BJP govt took over the state, the entire state is facing problems one after the other.....

I read that bangaluru is already reeling under diesel shortage and people are forced to buy premium fuel. Mumbai will not be immune to power problems for ever.

Free power for farmers is going to make matters worse. When you give anything for free it is taken for granted and people will not use it judiciously. Ndeal or not Ndeal we need to research and implement alternatives like solar and wind energy.
