Guest
Remember everyone complained about the game being too easy and asked for difficulty patch. Base game just fit well with the theme of the game. Not all games needed to be hard or bullet-sponge. Quote Even after putting the controller down I keep on thinking about which citizens to recruit next, whom to shuffle, what research to do or which building to upgrade next whenever I am going to resume playing. So addictive!! Have seem quite a few posts on other forums where people find this aspect of the game very boring and unnecessary...no wonder they dint like the game. Every action of yours in this game is towards building the kingdom. Building aspect was pretty cool. Simple and nice. I maxed it out and enjoyed till end. Bauji
Game might be easier at the time of release maybe? With the latest version - 4.0, game gives descent challenge even at the lowest difficulty setting(Normal).

Level recommendation in this game is weird. Last quest of Broadleaf chapter..recommended level was 39. I was at 38 so started it...apart from the usual enemies had to face a mini boss of Lvl 48(& that guy was attacking like a maniac) and then game has thrown at me a lvl 51 boss - Bastion...kept poking at him for like 25 mins and was able to defeat him by the skin of my teeth but then... Hide contents The f**ker came back with full health and killed me. It was very frustrating to repeat it but the cutscene after that was worth it. Later took up a side quest of the same level as I was and had to fight a tainted Klogg. F*cker was doing 700-800 damage to me while my dozen or so attacks were reducing him health bar hardly by a milimeter. Makes no sense at all. Coming to the game, with citizens from Broadleaf, levelled up the Kingdom to level 3. I cant get enough of this kingdom building aspect. Even after putting the controller down I keep on thinking about which citizens to recruit next, whom to shuffle, what research to do or which building to upgrade next whenever I am going to resume playing. Tainted beasts are high powered, even though the level might be lower than yours.

Bauji
And finished the game. Kingdom has 88 citizens. Took 56 hrs. Could easily spend another 15-20 hrs recruiting remaining citizens, over 50 remaining side quests, skirmishes, dreamer doors, tainted monsters etc etc. Amazing value for money!! Liked: Kingdom building. It was so addictive. Studio Ghibli "inspired" art style. Boss fights. I dont play many JRPGs, but really liked the small things this game does to reduce the usual JRPG related completion time and grind. Like no carry capacity limit. Saved so much time completing Swift solution errands and many side quests because of this. Most of the time I had the required items with me. Another example is fast travel from anywhere, such a time saver. Hated: Skirmishes. What could be worse? Skirmishes with time limits or escorts. Thinking of buying the Season pass to support the developer but playstationdude's post about lvl 120 requirement is making me reconsider. I've finished the game at level 61 and there is no way I'm going to grind that much.

But it was pretty much a full stop for me at level 68, as the requirement suddenly jumped from mid 60s range to 120. No way I can take on level 120 enemies at level 68. It would be extremely hard even if I was level 90. :| I'd rather recommend staring Ni no kuni 1 remastered. Its also amazing. Could very well finish another game(or two) in the time it would take to reach lvl 120. NNK 1 is one of my all time favourites But have it on PS3. Get Dragon Quest XI if you haven't played. Better than NNK 2.

Bauji
Wasnt feeling like starting some new game, so thought of spending some casual time with this, taking up some side quests. And that was last week Have seen many people calling the kingdom building aspect worthless filler like in a mobile game, but I find it to be the most addictive thing about this game
