acoustique Posted November 9, 2008 Report Share Posted November 9, 2008 anyone played Far cry 2 as yet..What are the first impressions? i am playing far cry 2 just now. the weather and day night cycle is awesome. early in the morning there will be this faint golden light and chirping of birds. at noon the sun seeps through trees and creates awesome shadows. graphics wise this game really kicks a*s. if you like gta4 you will like this game to a certain extent because the gameplay mechanic is similar. you drive around complete missions and then drive around some more. there are flaws in the game i agree but you will quickly forget the flaws as the pros of the game will soon outweigh them. the most annoying thing i thought was the jamming weapons and frustrating ai. i mean cmon, i understand old guns jam. but every fckin gun picked up from others WILL jam eventually (that too at the worst possible moment). only saving grace is that purchased weapons(new) will not jam. also the bloody ai. sometimes they are ridiculously difficult to beat and at times really stupid. how the hell can someone pin point and shoot back when i am sniping from a friggin kilometer away? and at times they can be really easy to beat. walk upto them and cut them open... but apart from these flaws the game overall is awesome. the african savanna will blow you away and just driving around in your jeep appreciating the beauty can a be a very satisfying experience. you feel like a mercenary and the open nature of the world will let you approach and finish a mission in many different ways. you can snipe from far away, go gung-ho clean up single handedly or even wait for the night and play in stealth. if you are a first person shooter fan then you will definitely love this game. it grows on you and although a little frustrating at start, you will gel well in no time. deserves an 8.8 or 9.
