The lag isn't surprising. I have both, and I think you really need the 4K stick hardware to run both old and new OSs smoothly. And the fire stick remote is just so good and sturdy. I've dropped mine countless times. Also the fire stick 4k does direct play hdr in plex. No transcoding BS even at bitrates in excess of 85mbps.
