I don't see any 4k content though I have 4k tv, I think i will have to wait for LG to officially out the Netflix app from lg smart store. Would probably be due to Netflix app on PS4 as even in YouTube the 4k option does not show up.

Also the quality on wifi is bad on 4k tv, don't think it is even streaming at full HD maybe my 8 mbps connection is the culprit.

You have to play it in the 4k tv (with the UHD plan enabled of course). You will see a separate line for 4k vids. They also clearly mention which vids are in 4k. Does your TV have an app store like Opera store or play store? If it does, try to download app from there.

Got the netflix app on my Sony TV automatically yesterday (without having to download an app) and saw Blacklist 1st episode and Daredevil 1st ep. in 4k. Haven't tried playing 4k vids with console yet.

Also @Piper,

The link you posted is not working.

GUess it is the PS4 app, LG has it's own store and netflix native app is available in US and UK region. Should show up in india store shortly now, i think that should help.

Signed up late last night, works flawlessly on my 4Mbps connection. Watch a ep of DD, followed my some Russel Peters. Later watched Salma Hayek dance in 'From Dusk Till Dawn'. It takes a minute for the quality to settle down, but once it does...it's smooth sailing.

Should I watch Prometheus without watching any of the Alien series?!

Yeah, you can and next time please do not use Prometheus and Aliens in the same sentence.

I have 50 Mbps so 4K should work fine for me. Will try super sampling my desktop to 4K if it's available. But not sure if desktop apps or site can do 4K.

Ya will take a 50 mbps connection next month as I am shifting apartment

Netflix india is completely useless. 93% of the shows and movies are not available in India and what little is available will also undergo severe censorship hammer just like on tv. Don't see why anyone would bother with it for 500/month.It should be like 100/month considering all the above points.

Don't be so pessimistic. Content will be added in future and right now there is no censorship. There is no news regarding outrage due to censorship as well, only people in all forums worried that there will be. Anyway, first month is free, so just give it a try and cancel before the end of the month if you don't like it. Netflix and other such services cannot grow here if people don't give it a chance.

Regarding price, it is on the higher side, but they might bring it down later to get more people on board. This entire launch seems to me that it was done in a big hurry without much proper planning, so we are seeing such problems. Or they might just be testing the waters here at various price points (i.e. they don't have much idea of Indian market). Or they might just be targeting this to people at metros who can afford it, who knows?

P.S. Some people are getting SMS regarding Rs 70 charged when adding a card. But I think it's just an authentication check and refunded. Just check it to be sure.

most likely is. when you buy or add card details from a international website, it authenticates your card by charging you 0.99$. 1$ = 70 rs right now.

There will never be any censorship. It's an online service, not TV or movies. Government cannot ask any online site to censor their content as per country. Do they ask paid porn sites to censor content? No.

So it will be same here. They can outright ban the site, that's it. Netflix is charging in USD, just that they have created India version of their site and allow Indian cards.

Ok I'm willing to give free trial a shot but i have a few questions

1. Would it be safe to use my debit card as i don't have credit card?

2. Where can i see the entire list of all the movies and shows the indian version offers to see if there's anything at all that interests me. The main page only shows few thumbnails but i want to check out the entire library before subbing.
